I'm looking forward to it tonight and Whitstable should bring quite a few fans. Shame it's not on a Saturday or Bank Holiday at a neutral ground.

Anyone at Priestfield when we beat Dover 2-0 will know how much this cup has fallen. I was also there when we lost to Maidstone - there seemed to be a massive crowd there that day, anyone know the attendance?

yeah cant wait - im not expecting a massive crowd maybe 200 max which is a shame

but unfortunately most people would rather sit at home and watch the chequebook league and a team they "support" like man u or liverpool than spend a tenner to watch their local team in a cup final(ive ranted about this before on here)

I'd like to think we'll get more than 200. Although Whitstable's average home crowd is 176, so I'm sure they will bring a reasonable chunk of those.

I assume kick off is 7:45 as per our website - on the Whitstable site they made a post saying it was 7:30.

i hope so maybe we could get 300 or so in - it would be great to get a league attendance of around 550-600 but i just cant see it happening

and i noticed that myself but im assuming it's a 7.45 - dont see why it wouldnt be

3-1 Wings H/T.

Sheringham penalty, then they levelled from freekick, Parkinson regained the lead then Lee Prothroe scores what could be goal if the season from 30/35 yards.

Luckily all on camera.

What would you do without me? :)

6-1 Full time. A great achievement for the club, no matter how 'Mickey Mouse' the cup is perceived. Good crown of 617 as well, I think that caught people by surprise!

Well done Andy and Jimmy for putting out strong sides in this competition. Winning trophies is what the game is all about.

I was totally surprised by the size of the crowd. 617 is better than most league games.

Good game played in the right manner with no bookings. Officials were good and deserved their applause at the presentation.

Great all round team performance masterminded by a top management team.

Great game tonight and i was glad so many people turned up, even though it had been raining. Despite a few early scares (and some great saves) we pretty much controlled the match once we scored our second goal. Never thought I'd see us win a trophy again, as it's been quite a while now. Even the Whitstable fans were a laugh! Looking forward to next season already, if we can keep playing like this :D

I wondered whether it was going to be worth the effort - had visions of crap game and a crap crowd. Wrong on both fronts. Really enjoyable night out. Great goals and the team seemed really pleased to have won it. Well done Welling.

Brilliant game and fantastic result.  Congratulations to Andy, Jimmy, all the staff and especially the players.  Really good crowd in tonight too and I would like to say a big thanks to all the Whitstable supports that turned up. You are a credit to your team, always singing and chanting even though you suffered a heavy loss.  Good luck for next season.
Lee Protheroes goal was outstanding and Wilkinson kept us in the game with some outstanding saves.  All of the players deserved credit tonight, but my man of the match has to be Jack Parkinson.  Solid in defense, great vision, knew what was happening and scored two goals - well done fella.

The officials were good too, apart from the one major blip by the Lino on the old stand side, when a back pass by a Whitstable player was flagged for offside against us disbelief

Best game of football for ages - keep it up guys and Conference for us soon  smile

The lino's excuse was "The 6 played him on". I didn't see the ball touch Tony and up til then the lino was spot on so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. All in all, the officials had a good night.

I agree with MOTM being Jack. He's getting better every game. I hope we can hold on to him for at least another season but I don't think it will be long before a bigger club comes sniffing.

Excellent game last night. Well done Fordy & all the team on & off the pitch. It's been a decent season & a trophy caps it off well. Agree that Parkinson was motm - hope to god we can keep him.

Respect too to the Whitstable team & supporters - never gave up even when 6-1 down. Hope they enjoyed the evening (despite the result) & had a safe journey home
