We're level on points with a better goal difference, meaning we need to match Bath's result on Saturday to claim 7th and then hope that the Conference follow the rule book and kick Hampton out like they should.
Given they kicked Cambridge out, even though they have a better ground .
we can only hope - just have to beat newport on saturday now and leave it up to the ;eague to decide on hampton but it doesnt sound good for them and a decision will have to be made very soon on whether they can go up or not
Don't think we need hampton to win as Maidenhead have already been told they can't get into the playoffs. All we need is to win on saturday and hope!! Come ON!!!!!!!!!!!
Oi lets have a bit of positive thinking. That was my first thought as well to be honest but I've banished it from my mind. If a play off place can't motivate us to do the business then nothing ever will.
Lets hope the club contact the league and say WE WANT what would be OUR RIGHTFUL place according to the rules and ground grading regulations should we be the team that finishes highest outside the top 5 oh you know what i mean.
Lets let them know that should they bend the rules we will look into our options. No threats just that we would consider our selves wronged against and look at our otions.
If they know we wont take it laying down (like Neil Smith) then they may just may decide to stick by their rules or next year they might promote the 17th placed team as they have a nice away kit.

Altrincham weren't going to be deducted 18 points a couple of seasons back, the Forest Green chairman then wrote to the Conference and said he'd sue them if they didn't enforce the rules (as they were in a relegation battle at the same time). They did and they were deducted all 18.
Would rather not stoop to that level, especially as we could then go on to **** up Saturday and have egg on our faces.
We've been repreived 3 times without having to resort to such antics so I don't think it pays.
Not that what we think is relevant as I don't think the club would do duch a thing.
So if you have a rightful standing you let people do what you want? Or you go for what should be yours. Of course there are ways of doing things. A gentle we want that place if we win on Saturday would suffice.
