Ok so it was over Team Bath's resignation but .....

Whilst we can understand their frustration, our Chairman Brian Lee has stressed the importance of the rules on many occasions to the Club

So Team Bath resign and fold? because of conference rules. But Welling or Bath City get denied their rights (by the rules)

Can the Conference basically just do what they want when they want ?

seems that way - but hopefully common sense will prevail and they will uphold their own rules(still dont think they will though)

Brian Lee comes across as very smug. Just listen to him on here;

http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/content/articles/2009/04/15/nl_conference_feature.shtml

He also bottled doing a live interview as he knew fans would be lining up to question him.

i cant listen to it at work - what was said about hampton?

and the fact a pr company has been hired is a joke - he sounds more like a politican than the chairman of the conference

More Conference 8oll0x about ineligible players from one of their official statements

"The Football Conference has also received negative communications and in some cases unwarranted abuse via Supporters Trusts. These groups have been unaware of all the facts and the legal implications both of Clubs complying with the Rules and the absolute obligation of the Board to apply the same."

I am really struggling here to see how they can not just say sorry Hampton you have not adhered to the rules.  Anyone else?

they will come out with a loophole to let hampton in the playoffs -  can see it coming from a mile off

the question is why though - why are they bending over bakwards for them?

Right according to the lady we just spoke to the conference who we just spoke to they are waiting on a third party to be able to give out that statement, i agree with JGFC we haved missed out on a massive crowd here this should have been sorted out three weeks ago, like Maidenheads was getting a real joke now!!

isnt anything to do with the council - it will be the pr company who are preparing the statement one way or the other

surely it MUST be a rejection or they are going to open a massive can of worms over this one

If they announce it today you will still get over a 1000 there tomorrow had it been sorted out days ago then you may have beaten the afc crowd at home as it will have been the biggest game in recent history,

I am with J on this.

I think it has to be a rejection read their statements all about sticking to the rules. This isnt even a day or two over the deadline plus the planning doesnt meet for 3 further weeks.

I would be on the floor if they allow Hoofit and Richclub to play in the play offs this season.

i hope so - but yeah we could have had a massive crowd tomorrow if it had been announced sooner and the same for tuesday as well as if the casuals had had more warning then they might have shown up en mass especially with charlton doing so rubbish

ps this comment above to depend on their decision and of we match bath's result

Is it a coincidence that I cannot get on to the Hampton website? I have been on there numerous times today, to check, without a problem.

They must be updating it with a statement.

I cannot believe the Conference can get away with this - the season ends tomorrow and they still can't be bothered to confirm whether Hampton are eligible for the play offs. It makes non-league football look a complete joke run by people who couldn't organise an away trip to Eastleigh.
