Makes a pleasant change from several of the last few years where we have still been scratching round for half a squad in early August

I have a horrible feeling that we are going to be in for a shock. I can see Charlie leaving and one or two others. I hope they dont, prove me wrong!!

It's about time the club dictated to the players/potential players. The last few years most players have waited to see if a better offer comes in and the club has been hanging on. Well done Fordy.

Simple reason for the deadline - Fordy has his eyes on a player/players who are aware that they will not be/are not on the retained list of their existing club and wants to know how much he has to spend.

I feel that, slowly but surely, the power is coming away from the player and back towards the clubs and that can't be a bad thing (especially at this level of football)

Having spoken to AF and JD on Saturday night they seemed very clear in their thinking going forward and I trust them to make the right decisions on current players and potential new recruits.

It would be nice to have the bulk of the squad in place prior to pre season.

we do run the risk of losing good players who don't want to commit now, who end up being available further down the line. I'm up for Fordy not only taking that chance but only wanting players who are committed.

Cobbs NOT offered a contract.....only to turn up for pre season training

Andy is bringing in a Left Back so Sonny would have to go to Midfield

Well done Fordy showing some balls and trying to do whats best for the club. Everyone is behind him. There will always be some hard decisions. He is paid to make them. He wont get every one right, BUT he seems to be making a lot of right decisions. I think what he has done here is spot on.
