I guess the appointment of Protheroe to replace Dack means another space in the budget for a player. He should do a good job while learning from an expert manager.

It's good news about those who have committed to next season. Hopefully the others will as well.

Presumably, Charlie Sheringham lives somewhere near Bishop's Stortford. I cannot see any other reason to talk to them. Can they afford to pay us a fee though? I thought they were cash strapped.

Jimmy leaving is quite big news, was at the Golf day on Friday didn't know Jim was going anywhere, few questions?

Jimmy has been out scouting for players for Welling for the coming season does this now put him in the box seat to bring them to Woking?

Also Jimmy was going to be instrumental in putting together the new college side with the other coach Keith, what will be the status of this going forward.

Finally well done to Jimmy on all of his efforts with us last season, but very dissappointed to hear he is leaving us for another side in this league, not very ambitious is it, or very loyal to the lads you've coached!!!

Matt totally agree mate I think that Dack is taking the piss granted did a good job, but whats going on with all that seems he had commited to bringing in kids from this college scheme, and as you say scouting for players for us, it seems he has got a phone call from wanking and he has gone yea fancy that thanks very much, we leave them lads down at PVR and I come coach up you boys.

As you state matt if they were still in connie or a different league to us then i would not be as bothered but to leave for a team who will be a big rivals off ours next year no mate that aint on serious if he was at the golf day then 48 hours later he is on his toes no you cant be doing that, non league football with things like this happening is why some see it as a joke, we had a great season kept on some great players and with ford and dack in charge i am sure we would have been pushing for promotion next year even more so but no Dack did not seem to see it like that does he know something as after commiting to all these things it seems strange to be off so quick.

Anyone know what lee does for a living because with Dack being a taxi driver he could get out a lot more and look at players etc, Dack if you could do us one favour as you head down to wanking take Baker with you on the way out.

Have heard that Sheringham in talks with us. We have no more money than last year, in fact the budget is staying the same for the coming year. Hopefully he'll sign for us and look forward to good games next year!

It was Matt who was at the Golf Day not JD Dizzie.

To have brought Lee Protheroe on board so quickly Fordy must have known what was likely to happen but presumably it wasn't a done deal on Friday so he wouldn't have said anything.

With hindsight the clues were there. Graham Baker was looking for a nuimber 2, Jimmy worked with Graham Baker in the Woking Academy and Jimmy was at the Surrey Senior Cup Final where Woking lost to Ashford Town (Middx) last Tuesday night.

Quite where all this leaves the Welling Academy remains to be seen.

WTF Right, well it does seem that dack has just p1ssed off and left us in the ****, what a top bloke lol. Should be some great chants next season.

Yes please take Baker with you.

HOWEVER getting Lee in as assistant could be superb. Hes experienced and i watched him with the players at Hampton and he was geeing them up and doing 1 on 1 stuff with them and encouraging them.

I wonder if Proths is now going to join Keith with the academy. Had Jimmy signed a contract for the academy? If so sue  the tosser.

As for Charlie, surely its Money? And if it is he can fook off and we will have the fee which should be 20k plus when you take into account Keds fee and Boothys (age) .

I think Andy could do some real damage with 20k and Hockton would score as many as Sheringham. Note i am only saying this as he has chosen to have talks with a team in our league. So its not as bad as it looks.

Dack can go and fook off thanks for nothing... Thats another team we can beat twice next year. Proths will do at least as good a job as Dack and has a tremedous ethic about him. Charlie, if you want to go for a pound note to a team in our league.... good luck  seen it all before

Be loyal to Fordy who gave you a contract and has turned you into a player. Players get their moves at Welling if they play the game. Going to Stortford LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL hardly a forward move is it?  Obviously thinks hes a good as his dad and should be playing at White Hart Lane already. Grow up and get your head down and do things properly. Your dad served his time going through the ranks developing and got his move late in life.

Going to stortford for a fifty a week? getting a reputation of not settling? are you for real Charlie. Stop pissing about or feck off pronto.

Disappointing news about Dack. Got to look at the positives though. We have 6 players signed up for next season already! Thats 6 more than we had this time last year and for a good few years before that. Hopefully Sheringham, Sinclair, Fazza and Andrews will sign on the dotted line but if they want to chase the pound note thats fine. I, for one, have full faith in Fordy and Proths putting together a decent squad that will challenge for the play offs next season.

I liked Dack I thght him and Fordy worked well together. I am a bit gutted to tell ya the truth and as it stands at the moment I see this as a real set back. However there is plenty of movemnet to be made this summer and hopefully Fordy will bring in a few to put the optimisim back.

Can make out what to think of Dack I am a bit stunned to be fair I'll wait for the dust to settle I think, as  for Charlie it can only be that he lives that way as why else would he move to Bishops? (no disrepect Stortford fans) hopefully he stays with us though.

Blimey, when we came to you last season, we were critisied for accusing Loui of chasing a quick buck, not for 'footballing' reasons! No wonder Charlie wants out!

Charlie Wants Out?

What do you base that on? LOL. I think when he looks at joining a team playing at their highest level who finished BELOW welling last year he might see that he would be a mentalist to sign for Stortford.

If he goes he goes. Weve had Keds, Boothy, Abbo, Inchy. We seem to have a knack of finding class strikers. But feck me he will get some stick next season if Stortford struggle and we continue improving under Fordy.

Dover have said Charlie will not be joining them.

One player who will not be joining is striker Charlie Sheringham, son of former Manchester United, Tottenham, West Ham and England superstar Teddy Sheringham.

Hess explained: "If they airlifted Crabble, and placed it somewhere further up the A2 towards London, he would have signed in seconds. The travelling is a problem for him, so we're looking elsewhere now for a striker.

Not sure if Sheringham ever signed a contract.

If we're entitled to a tribunal we'd get £10K tops.

When Keds & Day left I knew it was unlikely we'd be able to replace them and would be a worse team for it. I don't feel the same way about Sheringham. He's a good player and I'd have liked him to stay but I wouldn't put him in the 'irreplaceable' bracket; nor do I think he is currently good enough to play regularly at a higher level.

If Andrews and Sinclair sign, and maybe Fazza as well, then getting 9 out of the 10 offered deals to stay would be excellent. To be honest Andrews and inparticularly Sinclair signing would be a bigger boost than Sheringham. If they sign up then it's been a good summer.

So Sheringham would've signed for Dover in seconds if they hadn't been so far away!! Got to say that it sounds very much like £££££££, as it's hardly a career move

Well

I dont think that Ford should wait for ANY of them if it takes too long

It may mean that they struggle to find a club in the end

We need to get the team sorted as a nucleus

You may have established yourselves in the Conference South but that is only because your club has no ambitions to go higher. Things at Crabble are geared towards getting promoted from Connie South and moving up to the BSP. I'm not sure how you can say it wouldn't be a career move - we already have players at Dover who are much better than Sheringham - the fact that nobody above Conference South is coming in for him tells it's own story (particularly when they could pick him up for a relatively small fee). I realise i'll get shot down for being all BBB about things but i'll be very disappointed if Dover finish below Welling next season, even taking into account that you have an established manager and a (possibly) improving team.

To be fair, I'd be dissapointed at finishing below a team with half our budget.

 Shouldn't that read

'To be fair, I'd be dissapointed at finishing below a team with half our local small businesses budget.'

Charlie did sign a contract last season, a well paid one at that, and has been re-engaged terms again this season. If he doesnt sign for welling but goes somewhere else welling are entitled to a fee. If clubs dont agree then it goes to tribunal as with Keds. Will Bishops take that chance and end up having to find say £5k or £10K with sell-ons?

How can it possibly be 5 or 10k lol

Look how much Keds went for. And Charlie has to go for more. Based on Age and number of goals scored.

I cant remember but did Keds go for 12k or 20k plus a sell on? doesnt matter Charlie would surely be 15-20 based on Keds Tribunal. So Stortford better do a bit of work.

Remember Fordy rested Charlie as he said he wasnt upto completing a full season YET....

And if Dover had signed him... Thats a lot of buckets to pay the 20k isnt it.

Dover could afford 20k for a player anyway when was the last time they paid a transfer fee of that size PMSL...

Its all BBB again and delusions of grandeur from les blancs.

Yes you finished higher than stortford this year, doesn't mean you are a better club. Except this season Stortford have finished higher than you lot in the league several more times. Don't forget who also beat you this season at that craphole of ground you play at. Your fans can't be true fans if they don't know what the **** they are on about. Stortford had a successful half season, budget hasn't helped due to court case etc. but as now thats over im sure some new talent will come in to strengthen the current stortford squad that will be pushing for promotion next year.

Quite honestly what does Welling United have to play for?

Crap fans who said at Christmas that there going up in the play offs, laughable.

You play at a ground where at one side your main stand is hanging and the other is half way into the ground, honestly its like a prisonor of war camp.

And playerswho don't even want to play for you, thats saying something

Leaving a club to go to another in the same division is not really ambitious - that's the point. It might be different if Sheringham was looking at a club like AFC Wimbledon last year who had the crowds, ground, money, ambition etc.

BUT Bishop Stortford????? Biggest joke I've ever heard of. Take it as an insult if you like but it's not really going to further his career is it.
