Na lost a lot of respect for Sheringham, I hope he falls flat on his ars.
I would love to see Hockton here, hopefully over time he will realise that in this current climate he might not get what he truly wants and budge a bit, it all depends who else is in for him.
Loui will go no question, Bishops Stortford probably, what is it with that team? Tell me the attraction? I mean I see the appeal in Dover, but Bishops Stortford???
Would be more disappointed if Faz were to return to Stortford.
I like Fordy's no nonsense approach though, he has to think about PVR and the earlier he knows whether players who have been offered terms are staying or going the bigger the pool of players to replace those who have chosen to leave.

Be truthful chaps. How many of you are pissed off Sheringham has gone because you won't now be able to ogle this weeks stunner when the old man turned up?
Agree with that, I think players like Hockton will struggle to find clubs as clubs will not be held to ransom and pay over the odds like seasons gone by.
For me Billy Burgess, Hockton, Day would be three greta signings.
I would love to see Fordy take a chance on a player who has shone in a lower divison like Kedwell. Them players are hungary.
If the hockton deal falls through then I'd love to see us take a punt on someone like Cassius at Erith, its a good few steps lower than us but as I said in another thread there are some gems down at that level that just havent had the breaks.
Kedwell was playing at Herne Bay I think when we signed him and a certain Ian Wright was famously at Greenwich Boro before being picked up.
I've never had a problem with players going to bigger clubs for more money AND a higher standard of football plus enhancing their further career (Keds, Day, Barrett, etc) but I can't stand it when players just chase the cash. One of the worst was when Rivs dropped two leagues to play fo Fisher. BUT....
Bishop's Stortford????????
Maybe they are splashing money about and things will happen there. Just like when Fisher, Havant, Eastleigh and Hornchurch did the same.
Cassius and Whitnell (if over injuries) possibilitys and surely either would sign for what we offer with the chance of higher league football and putting themselves in the shop window,
Maybe Andy has loads lined up and is waiting for the jigsaw to piece together.
Has Graeme definitely signed for this season?

Not really, more pleased he's gone so his old man wont try and run us over in his Bentley like last time!
Would be more disappointed if Faz were to return to Stortford.

Great call Bruno. Still a shame that Charlie has gone though, but we've got to trust AF to deliver the goods
the bloke is an idiots - as Fordy has said he has had a lot of clubs and i wouldnt be surprised if he is at another another clubthis time next year - he is a waste of space as far as im concerned when Welling under Ford are going places and sheringham could build a reputation he leaves for more cash
he is a waste of space as far as im concerned and i have to say of late his goal celebrations were non-existant - and im not saying he has to care about our clubbut staying would have been good for him with the football we play and the bishops hoofing will do him no favours - he's destined for non-league football his whole career and even though money is no object for him due to his dad it's nice to see him fail miserably
total w*nker
ps well done Ford for the hard-line no nonsense - we have a fantastic manager and the longer he stays the better for us
I can understand the attraction of working nearer to home. I myself worked for quite a few years up town then got a job within walking distance of home. It was the best move I ever made and stayed there for 26 years despite the possibility of earning loads more up town.
How many of us would turn down an offer of more money and less travelling?
I am going to be a bit controversial - but I will say it now he's gone - I didn't rate Charlie as highly as most others. I know he scored goals although a fair few where from the spot and tap ins on the line. For me the rest of his contribution was poor - winning a ball in the air was rare as was holding the ball up. If the ball was played up to him then chances were it would be coming back at us as he would lose it. I know you can't have everything at this level but if he was the main stiker then holding the ball up and winning some balls in the air would have come in useful.
I was shocked he won player of the year - put it down to people loving some-one who scores goals.
I am probably in a minorotiy of one but at least there is some-one that is not disappointed he has gone
I can see what you mean Chelwing although he did score the occasional blinder. I never got the feeling that Charlie was a "team player", It's been said before but this move ends any hope of a move into league football it is obvious he is content with his life so work in London and play Football "as a hobby" for his local pub side pn the weekend. That's his choice.
We are getting cash for what is rapidly becoming a journeyman striker. He is only 21 and you have to wonder if hes realised he hasnt got it in him to make it.
Time to move on. Lee Clarke for Sheringham and we could get a five figure fee and a sell on.
Whos come out best here? If Clarkey is fit we have and even if that doesnt come off we ave a few quid in the bank as compensation and could well act as the extra for the budget that the WSU stumped up last season.

We will only get compensated for training and development of the player (time and money spent) which surely wont amount to much as effectively he is moving sideways not forwards in his career indicating very little development whilst with us, and he was only here for a season. I think about 5k will be the outcome , a sum which Bishop's Stortford will easily surpass with the sell on clause for Steve Morrison who went to Millwall for 130k plus add ons. My conclusion, both teams have done OK out of it but I think charlie will outscore our new signing next season.
Interesting that I wasn't in a minoroty of one - in fact some top names shared my view. I feel reassured that I am not totally mad and watching a different game to everyone else
Billy Burgess would be a first class signing for the Club. Andy Ford must put a deadline for existing players to sign by Midnight on Saturday, 16th May. Billy would make a significant improvement to the central defence and would add some much needed steel to the back four. I understand that Tony Sinclair has been touting about for a more lucrative contract and therefore we should not wait any longer for him to make up his mind especially now that Billy Burgess is available and we could lose out if we dither.
