Guys the club cant have a shirt that costs 11 quid on the makers site and then charge 30 quid!

I would imagine it will be different if similar.

Why not? I paid £25 or £30 for a fleece, and know you can get them made up for about £15. Once you add on the badge, postage etc they're probably marked up for double the cost price. Would make sense.

Was it Freddy Sheppherd or one of his side kicks who joked about a Newcastle shirt costing £5 to the club and then they sold them to the Toon army for 35 quid. Football shirts are a major source of revenue for clubs. Real Madrid made a profit out of Beckham - despite his wages etc - they made more on the relpica shirts world wide than he cost them in total. Sadly the same can not be said for Deco.

I don't really know the ins and outs of how kit manufacturing and marketing works, but how come we've gone from Umbro, a company that makes half decent kits, and for the England team no less, to Vandanel who make cheap looking Sunday League standard kits. I'd rather part with 28 notes for an Umbro shirt than a Vandanel one.

Graham, Vandenal dont charge for sponsors badges and numbering on their site.

how many shirts would the club sell ? 30-40? Perhaps they will knock these out at £15 and sell 100

Agree that what ever shirt you buy doesnt cost the club the £30 that is charged, but an adidas, nike or umbro kit wouldnt come all badged up for £10.99 to customers on their website!

Was it fisher or hornchurch that sold their shirts recently for a fiver? perhaps the club are going to do similar and try and sell a couple of hundred to attract the charlton fans who have given up watching them.

No sure, I was just making the point that clubs will always mark them up to make money - which I don't think anyone really complains about.

I hope there are new polo shirts and fleeces - and I would merrily pay over the odds, in the same way people buy raffle tickets each week to put money towards the club.

i am getting 20-30 shirts printed up that i am paying for so peter can sell in the shop and all money goes to the WSU.

they will probably be Fordys Army on Tour shirts with the fixtures and a badge on the back

white tshirts and red writing.

If james reads this james can you unoffocially... upload a decent sized vector or tiff of the badge that i will then design the shirt. and private message me the URL.

If Peter can knock them out for a tenner it should raise 300 for the WSU.

Interesting about T-shirts. Many years ago at Brands Hatch they were giving T-shirts away for free just because they were advertising something on the front. I grabbed loads and used them to wear while doing work on the car or decorating. In those days you were paid to advertise stuff.

Nowadays you pay an absolute fortune to wear some crap T-shirt made by some poor kid in the Far East all because its got a designer label on it.

Personally I only buy completely plain T-shirts. I got a load in K-Mart in Florida last year for $3.99 each and the quality is far better than the so-called designer stuff.

Personally I think putting on a shirt is a good advert for the club. Last week I wore an away shirt and was approached by a Tesco worker saying I like your shirt. No doubt he is a wings fan. On Friday I was in a home kit when I went to the pub and this caused a discussion amongst a couple of locals. It was also good that, when asked whats Welling won then? to be able to say well we won the Kent Senior Cup this year. On Sunday I got a lot of strange looks when I wore another away shirt to the Horn Fayre at Charlton House. Especially as Charlton were there with their community department.
Most of the time I am like Alan S, only I have £1.50 tee shirts from Tesco.

Jgfc I will certainly buy one of the shirts you propose. Great idea.

Don't talk about buckets. We've got Dover in the league now.

Charlton have today announced tht they will be unveiling their new red kit against us so I guess our new away kit will be on show that day.
