im not really looking forward to tomorrows game but definetly am for the start of the season and the fact that woking are the first game makes it massive
Tomorrows all about making some much needed cash, it doesnt look like we are prepared just yet.
On a side note how come some players are still on holiday when this fixture has been planned for yonks? Or does Andy mean some trialists are on holiday so won't be available?
Lawson is on holiday. You have to strike a balance . Summer holiday is often the big one and at least he is getting it out the way early in july i would be more psd off if Andy says ... so and so will miss the first game of the season as he is on holiday in magaluf.

Yeah dont forget the players have other jobs so not only do they have to fit holidays around that Football they have day jobs to contend with. One thing is for sure the players will make sure they are in tip top shape.
have to say i was surprised when he was let go and the opinion on this forum seemed to be the same - maybe something happened behind the scenes? or maybe Fordy just didnt think he was good enough
Just to update you lee is still only 23 not 24 till October this year, and he has lived in Hornchurch all his life, was knocked side ways when A.F told him he was not part of his plan for this season.Agree would be a shame if he walks away from the game at his age
I couldn't believe it when I heard he was let go. I've already said he was my player of the year nad can only imagine it was budget reasons. There certainly aint many centre midfielders as good as him at this level. And his free kicks were excellent. BRING HIM BACK!
Regarding Mr Blackburn; Could have done with his spot kicks and corners last night. If it was a cost cutting excercise why he has left then I'm sure he may have been offered a revised pay offer. If he declined then fair enough. If it was an attitude thing then hard decisions have to be made for the greater good. I would find it difficult to see if it was that he was surplus to requirements. As per JgFc, I would echo his advice, give A.F a call even if it was on a match by match basis.
Lets hope Fordy re considers, as Lee is a player who proved he was good enough. Also if it is money, Lets hope Lee reconsiders. I would guess a few players took a wage drop for this season. The recession is biting.
The fact lee would be welcomed back and supported may soften the blow of less money .
Its a hard and strange situation. Perhaps there is a reason we dont know about, Maybe fordy will comment in the paper but it does seem we may have lost out on the face of it by releasing him.

Based on the limited evidence of last night we are nowhere near effectively replacing Lee Blackburn and Sonny Cobbs (as a midfielder). I see we've now signed Dean Cracknell he has quite a job on his hands. Fordy normally spot on but feel releasing Blackburn a mistake. That said Blackburn did take awhile to get going and then lost his way a bit when Arter came in. Trouble is we haven't got Arter anymore! On a further note we really should have made the return of Daisy happen if at all possible.
