I was just looking at the trainline website for details of our trip to France on the August bank holiday. The shortest journey is 2hrs:30 mins via Waterloo and costs £34:80!!
The least expensive option costs £21:70 but involes three changes at Dartford, Rochester and Faversham and takes 2hrs:40 mins !!!
Now what would the interest be like in coach travel to the game? A coach will get down there in little over an hour and would probably cost no more than £15 return each.
If there is significant interest I will start to get quates from local coach firms.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
I will be getting a B16 to Bexleyheath. A train to Dartford. Get a cab from there to Maidstone. Hitch a lift on a tractor to Ashford. Hop on the Euro Star to Paris. Quickly onto a charter flight to Folkestone whereby I will then get a helicopter to the ground. I've rang around and got 'quates' and the best price I can get is £850, if anyone can't make the coach trip that Chris maybe kindly organising then I'll be up for some company.
IF YOUR LUCKY, MAY GET A HORSE FROM FOLKESTONE, IF A HORSE RACE MEETING IS ON THAT DAY, YOU MAY GET A LOOSE HORSE OR BUY THE LAST HORSE (THE GEE GEE I WOULD HAVE BACKED) IN THE SELLING RACE CHEAPLY - MORE COST EFFECT THAN HELICOPTER, THOU YOU MIGHT NEED SAT NAV
My dear 'BOOM BOOM BALLY' I can only assume you do not own any horses as you are quite wrong about the cost effectiveness of them compared to using a helicopter. As an owner of a stud farm and approximately 30 horses I can say that it's not cheap, just ask my good friends Sir Alex and Michael Owen.
Anyone thinking of the train should be aware Kearnsey Station (nearest to ground)will be served by replacement bus service on 31st. Dover Priory is 2 miles from ground. - Information from National Rail Site.
