As I understand it, we have a friendly against Millwall on Tuesday. Although a bit late notice, at least we have another match that has potential to bring some unexpected revenue into the club. Hope there's no damage done, so I would suggest that a win for us not be advisable, just ask Dover.
I only found out about the match this morning, because i went past the ground on a 96, and happened to look up at the board which announced the game against Millwall. I wonder how many people know that this match is on?

1-1 ht. Millwall scored after 17 with a fairly soft goal let in by the reserve keeper. Clarke equalised on 44 with a bullet header after a nice cross from ben. I would guess the crowd is about 500, and we're getting every penny we can by charging £10 in and £2 to sit!
2-1 millwall after a prime ****up by 2nd sub keeper and a defender. New team in 2nd half, We look alot bigger and stronger. We have a giant black guy up front, he would be a useful signing
Thought the No 5 second half looked good-man of the first half was Graham Andrew, we could lose him if a league side start looking.
Dont know where the goals are goig to come from this season with Lawson out-as for the guy the second half up front, lets just say I wasnt as impressed as Graham
Seemed to be a bit of trouble after the game hope no one was hurt
Didnt see any aggro but having never been to see us play Millwall before it came as a bit of a shock to get through the turnstile and be confronted by a steward standing with his arms folded and legs apart trying hard to be a presence to deter any yobs, perhaps he used to be in the armed forces, perhaps he used to be old bill or perhaps he was just a d**k head. This fella being there like that left a bad taste. To show how well informed he was about being a steward he pulled some bloke up for drinking a can of soft drink which he shouldnt have brought into the ground as football league rules applied as millwall were visiting, only to find that said bloke had just bought his can of fizz at the food wagon. Back in the old days when i first went to football this sort of attitude would have attracted a right hook. The game needed stewards perhaps but the likes of this one doesnt make for a an atmosphere of reassurance but just the opposite. As i sat during half time staring at the teamsheet i wondered if the stewards were paid for as the gate didnt seem as big as many expected.

It was more about his size - in the first half we were getting nowhere playing long balls up the pitch, in the second half when the big man was on the only way they could control him was by fouling him. Just thought players like that will be a useful addition against some of the more physical sides in the BSS.
I have to say Parkinson is pure class, he seems to get better with every game. Whilst I was gutted to see Sincs leave us, I think Parkinson will get to that level very quickly. Finn impressed me a lot - he has got some serious pace
Overall I thought that between the teams in the first and second half we could have a good blend of size, skill and pace.
I wont comment on any other players as I was as confused as anything knowing who was who - roll on Saturday when it will become a lot clearer
Despite what a previous poster has said, there was nothing wrong with the stewards. All i saw them doing was their job, nothing more than that. I felt they handled things well.
There was a little altercation down by the corner flag at the road end. Some local herberts seemed to think it was right to kick in the horading, dump a dutbin on the pitch and smash bottles inside. The stewards dealt with it well but I did hear maybe wrongly that some one had been hit outside.
Trouble is that this mindless lot seem to tag on to the old Millwall reputation which the club have made efforts in shifting over the years. Certainly all the supporters around where I was were only interested in the football. As usual its the minority which brings things down.
As for the guy up front, he may be big and have presence but I didnt rate his touch, although he did have one good attempt at goal. Still, its early days and opionions differ but I'm happy to be proved wrong
