Live Updates - Welling v Braintree

Afternoon all,

I will be providing live updates from todays game. Unfortunately James is away and we haven't had a chance to set it up so I can do the updates on the live site, however you can still get the same stuff from http://twitter.com/wufclive.

If you have a twitter account you can ask questions, give feedback etc.

Hope it's of use!

Graham

thought we were awful today - cant believe the ref didnt see that hand of god in the box but Charlie kept us in that game with world class saves and i though Perkins had a fantastic game as well

apart from that entirely forgetable(spelling wrong but had a couple of drinks!!) and a point gained

Mambo wasn't bad although he gave a silly free kick away just outside the box.

A really scrappy game with the worst officials so far this season.

Two of our players went down with head injuries but he waited for the ball to go out of play before seeing if they were OK.

We could have had a goal in the first half if he'd played the advantage rule like he should have done. He did seem to favour Braintree; perhaps he's an Essex boy.

Charlie Mitten played a blinder and was man of the match for me. Some good performances by some but all in all, scrappy, very scrappy.

Charlie Mitten and the poor finishing of the Braintree forwards kept this game goalless.

Perks wasn't at the races today and Mambo did seem to get the wrong side of the Braintree forwards too much for my liking but he is a threat at set pieces. Overall a pretty forgettable performance from Welling but at least we got a point. We will have to improve massively to get anything from the Crapble and the Dover bandwagon.

Completely agree, a bad game added to by a completely inept referee. When he got accused of drining the Braintree coach even the linesman laughed. We seemed to lack anything to make this into a game.

I will give the bloke another chance and hope he proves me wrong but if Craig Rocastle puts in another performance like that I will get me boots out again and accept Fordy's invatation in the local press

This was my first game this season and play like that week in week out then we will be bottom 3 all season, NO ONE STOOD OUT minus Mitten and Hurrell and he was subbed. Must improve asap or i will get critical

Agree on Hurrell and also parkinson - there have had to carry Hughes and Dean the previous two games in midfield

you were watching a different game - first half perks was making all the headers in braintree's area to keep our attacks alive when others were too busy ball watching and he was making important defensive headers also throughout the 2nd half when we had nothing going forward

would have been my man of the match for us if not for Charlie

Well..normally you can pick out one or two that really have a good game BUT Charlie aside I thought the WHOLE team was average or below

That is rare but we got a point were denied TWO penalties for me

I remember that ref from another game played at PVR and he wasnt any better this time if not worse

To give Braintree some credit they did NOT give us ANY space when we were on the ball

When will Clarke play a whole game...is he still that unfit???

Monday will be very very difficult but lets hope they raise it LOTS!!!

Your keeper played really well and made 2/3 great saves - the one to stop Mingle's header was brilliant.  You should've had a penalty so a draw was about right - good luck at Dover.

first half he made a few mistakes (missed a header while covering and led to them getting in behind) but in the b'tree area he was causing problems for their defense all 1st half heading on balls into the box which is something i feel we lack in most games

i thought he had a good game even if i seem to be in the minority on here!!

I`m trying to recall any worthwhile attempts on goal by Welling................................................................. I`m still thinking............................................................... Nope! I cant think of any. Dover are going to rip us to bits. I hope I`m wrong.

Ben,

This weeks quote from Fordy's interview with the SVBT

""If you get off the number 92 bus outside Welling High Street, you could be in the side. I cannot wait for the time when I have a problem about picking the team."

So make sure you dont have the short studs in for the pre season stuff, even Bubbles and Chelwing were seen stretching ala faz yesterday

Anyone wishing to take up Andys offer dont get the 92 it will take you to Ealing Hospital or Wembley try a bus that actually runs past the ground

Let's not forget we were **** before the injuries ruined us, against Thurrock inparticular.

The season is dead. We're obviously not going to make a play off challenge, so we've got 35 games to ensure the we're not relegated.

Suppose there's the cups, but we'd need a huge amount of luck to do well with this team.

The post above is possibly the most negative post I have ever seen.

It is not even September and the season is over?

I thinki we still have a few games left before we ask Fordy to fall on his sword

Could not agree more.  I am sure many players read this forum and such posts must have a negative effect on them so lets just get behind the lads at every match and be the 12th man on the field

At least I never target individuals like some.

Now that is out of order.

Several of the players aren't good enough.

Personally I can't see us losing another game all season, conceeding any more goals and getting any more injuries. That said I we'll win the league, all cup competitions including the FA cup and have some of our players playing for England.

Its extremely interesting that 1 anon person continues to be negative about anything or there are a few anons all posting extactly the same all the time.

1 They may not be a Welling Fan
2 If they are then they havent got the guts to be identified being negative
3 Why would a welling fan be so negative every post? Fining anything to post a negative post? Dover Fan? Ex Player? Ex management?

I have always said if someone wants to post anonymous on ANY forum then their post isnt worth a wank.

If you stick by that train of thought and ignore anon posts then their negativity or dodgy point that they choose to post under a veil of anonymity can just be ignored by all espesh the players. Just think its an oppo fan trying to drive wedges in .
