That must have been the most dire performance against Dover I can ever remember.

We lost possession countless times (i.e. the first goal) and rarely put passes together. When we did pass the ball we did manage to get behind the Dover defence but our finishing was woeful. We never got past the Dover defence on the right side all game - why did we not hit the left earlier?

We got muscled off the ball, Minton is keeping the scores down and it's not looking good for the next few games. The frustration and performances mean errors will be punished big time and referees mistakes will be much more crucial (Braintree).

Reading the programme notes you would think this was a proper derby match but to be honest it, it never really is. 60 miles away is one reason but the players could have been playing Thurrock for all the passion they could muster up.

I'm just hoping the injured players come back sooner rather later, the team will eventually gel and the fact Fordy is not afraid to bin players out if need be.

Looking at the day from a different angle, the burgers were nice and the cold drinks were actually cold. Not only that, had a chat with some Dover fans who seemed very decent and the sun was out. Do agree with some of the points made by GaryH.

fact is we are having a sh*t start but you always have a bad run or two during a season and this is hopefully just getting rid of a bad run

ill admit we look awful at the mo but we do have injuries and lets just hope we can get it together for the fa cup at the end of this month

I think we have be honest - some of the players are just not good enough. I appreciate the injuries and we will be a better side when we get some people back - but was dismayed at some of the perfomances today. I am not naming names but everyone who was there will know. The exception is Perks - we must get him signed up for the season. The only time we were in any way creative today was when he stepped into midfield and played some good balls. The rest of the time midfield was slow and looking at sideways and backwards passing.
