helps Ebbsfleet with both Chester and Salisbury having points deducted. I think HMRC are interested in chasing up the debts of a number of football clubs that have lived beyond their means and forgotten to pay their tax.
I doubt it's just the Setanta thing. Just why so many clubs risk themselves trying to race into the conference is beyond me. It is only the conference, it's not as though there are rich rewards with Europe on offer! League 2 is not going to bring massive rewards either.
We've seen it with Weymouth, Canvey, Hornchurch, Grays and now Salisbury. Once you're there it's still risky - Gravesend & Chester.
AFC Wimbledon seem to be doing it within their means and would probably be ok.
If i were the conference chairman i'd be a bit embarrassed about all of this.
