I'm going to be driving down tomorrow from Wales and just wanted a bit of advice. Is the Sat Nav likely to take me straight through the centre of London?! or is there another route that you'd reccomend?!
You've got Sat Nav, and the internet with access to google maps, and probably a map itself, yet you ask us how to get to Welling ?? Go away.
How am I supposed to know whether your Sat Nav will take you through London ?? put Welling into it and find out yourself !! What more do you want, shall I drive to Newport and drive you here myself ??
I shall try and be a little more helpful than the last post, I'm sure if I was in a similar situation I wouldnt mind a bit of guidance.
My advice would be not to go via Central London as it can get chocca with traffic and they sem to dig up all the wrong places at the weekend. Come down the M4 onto the M25 and turn off at junction2 A2 towards London. Turn off at the Danson interchange, under the bridge. left at the roundabout and past the park. Left at the lights and the ground is on your left.
There should be parking in the main road if you are there early enough. If you have company and fancy a pre match pint the Guy pub next door is reasonable and will have whatever footie on. Alterntaively there is the club house, although the no of beers is limited.
Safe journey but if you could leave without the three points it would help

Even Better. Thanks for your help and advice. Hopefully we'll see a good game, but I'd like to return with the 3 points if you don't mind.
I am not sure what is wrong Kevin. I have to travel from west side of London to get to Welling. If you are travelling from Wales head for the M25 and come round the south heading towards the Dartford Crossing. Go all the way around to the A2 (I think this is junction 2 on the M25).
On the A2 head towards London and take the Danson Interchange turn-off. Your Sat Nav should then get you to the ground.
I suggest you programme "Roseacre Road, Welling, DA16 2.." in to your SatNav - this is a short road running to one side of the ground. You cannot turn down it from the ground end but your SatNav should take you in to the road from the other end. Park in Roaseacre (careful as it is a little tight). Also, do not park with your wheels on the kerb in Welling you will get a ticket.
If you can't park in Roaseacre go down one of the roads opposite the ground and look there.
Have a good trip and hopefully it will not feel too long driving all that way back after losing...

David
Nothing is wrong as such David, just the use of the words Sat Nav in this thread several times just makes me wonder either why this poster bought one, or why several other posters feel the need to direct.
Kevin isnt wrong, lets face it google could answer a lot of questions. Also by programming the sat nav you can see the route and tell it to go east of central london or continue on the M25?
I can see why Kevin "bit". There are a lot of people who want everything on a plate and to be spoon fed when just 2 or 3 minutes time on Google or looking at the Sat Nav would answer their first question and any further questions that threw up.

If we kept this strictly to a football forum there would be an awful lot on here that would be non relevant. I also have a sat nav that tells me that my map is now somewhat old and I need to update that before I can subscribe to maps. The cost of this is about £80 so I'm waiting for it to conk out before I buy a new one, consequently mine is not fully up to date but it does a job but I dont get every street. (if anyone knows a cheap way to update a tom tom one please let me know-even a PM!)
I accept that there are things out there but I also dont see why someone cant be helped, its only like being asked directions in the street. At least I told him where the pubs are!
Actually, as it appears to be a nice day today I'll probably walk. The thing is, Sat Nav suggests walking down to the bottom of Hook Lane then turn right along the high Street. But I was wondering if anyone knew if this is a good idea or should I miss the busy high st and go around the back way.

Will your nurse allow you to walk?
Saw a "suit" from the beloved F.A on soccer am today and his nick name is trigger. Have you not got copyright on the name?

It's totally unfair, but I am classified as mentally unstable and as such am not allowed to have copyright on anything......so unfair!
As you have obviously not been to Specsavers lately, I enclose part of my text again.

Clearly you could see that I said "if you have company" meaning that any other party other than the driver may fancy a pint ( who could have a lemonade).
This would obviously explain why at games you dont see the things that I do as with your eyes you are obviously watching something else, try turning the chair around, the cricket ground is next door.
I was always told never trust someone who doesnt drink-maybe you should make a start.
Yes we were outplayed today, you were the better team and deserved your three points. I have no doubt that you will be up there or there abouts by the end of the season.
Which is great news considering the complete bell end that I was sat behind in the new stand behind the cricket ground who continued to shout "up the port" and swear like a trooper and constant reminders " to watch the video"
Despite the number of women and young children about this made no differnce, good luck in the Premier, despite your footballing prowess on the basis of this you are no loss and a sad enditement to the true fans who came and supported you today-fair play to them

Nice to know someone else had to suffer this What made my day happened two rows in front of me.
Lee Spiller and his family were sat two rows in front of me, and during the second-half some old chap decided to sit next to Lee.
He was chatting away to Lee without any clue that it was infact Lee Spiller the ex-Wings player. Then the old guy spouts out "that Danny Spiller isn't very good is he?" to Lee.
Then the old guy says "Welling use to have another player called Spiller, Lee Spiller I think", you can imagine what Lee said to that "Yeah he was a brillaint player weren't he" or words to a similar effect. Couldn't hold back my laughter likewise nor could Lee and family, yet the old guy still didn't catch on.

I'm sorry to hear that you had to endure swearing at a football match, deary me whatever next - sledging at a cricket game? *chortle*
Don't worry though, drop me a line before the return fixture and I'll make amends for our foul-mouthed friend - ****offyou****@hotmail.com
My dear ncfc, I'm sure that what BKK meant was that the individual concerned went above and beyond what is generally accepted as normal amount of colourful language. Speaking of colour, it was good to see so many of your supporters wearing your team's colours. Helped to brighten up a dull day for me. Best of luck in getting back into the top flight from where you once were.
The directions worked a treat lads thanks. Well, actually the Sat Nav took us the way you'd suggested anyways . So sorry for the extremely pointless thread. Still, its given you all something to read for a couple of minutes. Thanks for the 3 points today and Kevin I really do hope that you find happiness by the time you come down to Newport.
