Looks like most Bishy Stortford fans are fed up with him already - see their website. I know he has his critics here ( and no doubt Jgfc will say don't take him back cos he went for the pound) but we need a tall striker and I wonder whether a deal could be done? I see he missed a penalty on Saturday - crikey, he did not do that too often at PVR.

So if his released by then, would he have to come back to us ?.. and anyother club comes in for him, they would have to pay us ? would fordy have him back ?
seem to work last year, maybe ford needs a rethink, would charlie and Lee work up front together ?............its all just if, why, and bored talk, as its not going to happen
He chose to leave. Lets just get the tribunal done and cop the money for him. Why take him back? Hes had more clubs than Seve and would be off like a shot. Hes proven he couldnt give a ....!!
Please Fordy! NO!! Lets get the money and say good riddance to him. What goes around comes around. He wil be in the ryman on less that he was at Welling.

My dear JgFc, one thing I like about your postings is that they seem to come from your heart sometimes before you've thought them through from every angle. Consequently they generally create a response which I always enjoy reading from others. I don't have enough historical data in my tiny brain to compete with you regarding footballing matters but that doesn't matterin this particular case as concerning Mr Sheringham. I find myself crashed out in my lounge agreeing with some of your views regarding him. I personally hope that he goes on to get what he deserves and that he does not return to PVR. Regarding Mr Cobbs I had him down as my 3rd choice for player of last season and after speaking with him I found him quite "grounded". He, I would be happy to see again in our colours. Regards.

Cobbs is a different kettle of fish to Sheringham, who like his dad has no loyalties. Cobbs if I'm right had other possibly better options when he signed for us following his loan spell, so in a way showed us loyalty then, and only left in search of guarenteed football as opposed to money.
Totally agree, Sonny a bit like Jack had other offers and Sonny stuck with us. Andy then decided he wasnt good enough. But Sonny stuck by us. He would be welcomed back.
Its those that cant wait to get away to teams at our level or below that can do one.
My Dear trigger, when you are knowledgeable as i, also have an IQ of 147. Morally impeccable. I dont have to think before i post something as i know i am always correct.

I bow down to you sir! Although I did have your IQ at a different level.
Im confused by the Jimmy Dack issue he came back to us and went after Sinclair but Moses and Arter were free properties that like us that Woking could go after.
I sort of agree Spud. The only thing I'd say is that the club had shown Sinclair a lot of loyalty when he was injured and he repaid that faith by leaving for a club who are, whatever some say, a rival of this club, and one that is playing at the same level as us. At first I disliked Dack but on reflection that was probably a bit hasty, it is Sinclair who should really recieve the flack.
The loanees I think could possibly have been down to Dacks contacts - it's hard to tell - but with them both going to Woking it would suggest their arrivals at PVR were more down to him than Fordy, at the end of the day thats why managers bring in assistants for the extra contacts and thier knowledge.
no better way to shut your critics up a cheeky hatrick
some of you people would`nt know a good striker if he kicked you up the arse!!!
Indeed Charlie, you are right, there isn't. I would worry more about the criticism you're currently getting from within Stortford and not your ex club though. Perhaps also why you were getting critcism in the first place. So dont pretend all is rosy you smart arse, go and spend your time looking for your club for season 2010/11. Over and out.
I'm probably on my own here but I bear Charlie no grudge for leaving us.
At the new job I've started recently there's a young fella who used to play for St Albans (so he knows Dean Cracknell and Lee Clarke). I told him about Sheringham leving and my initial annoyance and bemusement as to why he left us to join a team lower down than ourselves. But then he reminded me that this is part time football we're talking about. These players have a day job that they have to put before football, which really, is something thay do in their own time which they enjoy and have the perk of being paid for this. Because of this, part time footballers usually don't feel the same sense of loyalty that the fans of local clubs do.
I don't know how ambitious/unambitious Charlie is but the way I see his decision is that maybe, like we've seen with Steve Perkins leaving, playing for Welling was taking up too much of his time and interfering with his life away from football. I'm led to believe he lives in Essex, namely Chingford, so signing for Bishop's Stortford would make perfect sense to him. Maybe he made a bit of extra bunce while he was at it, which is probably the case as we've had our budget slashed this season.
Like my workmate said to me....wouldn't you take a new job that pays more yet is closer to home?!
So best of luck Mr Sheringham, just don't score against us please!
I can relate to that. I was offered a job within 10 minutes walk from where I live and more money. I was a no brainer and I stayed for 26 years. I used to enjoy walking past the railway station seeing all those poor sods craming into an already packed train.
I didn't have a problem with Charlie Sheringham leaving and wouldn't have a problem with him coming back. He did what was best for him, which is what we all would have done had we been in his situation.
Players obviously want to play at the highest possible level and I can fully understand that. However Mr Sheringham left to join a team that was in the same division as us, so why go there I have to ask. On the face of it, it looks as though it was for financial gain but it could have been as simple as Bishop Stortford being closer to home. But what if a team at a higher level came in for him that played further away, what would he do then? Football is a business and as such loyalty is becoming a rare thing (not just by players). As a supporter of a team I think we would like those connected to our club to be as loyal, as we're the only ones that are here to stay. What I would say is that if anyone moves on then it would be beneficial if it was on good terms.
