Any word on a new sponsor. Coombes have had nearly a quarter of a season for free as far as I am aware. They are also named as the main sponsor on the home page.
I hope that they are giving us something for this publicity.... what odds do you think I can get on that!!

i dare say the people in the know will tell why this cant be done, but as Andy Townsend is an ex Welling player, who nows works for TalkSport, is there any way someone could try and contact him to see if he & TalkSport could help ?......
talksport. Bettabuys. Bedpost. Redbull. The sun. Heart fm formerly invicta. Bet365 . William hill just sponsored malaga. Ladbrokes have shops in welling and crayford down the road is their dog track. Bexley council. Online bingo firms like jackpot joy. Kent messenger used to sponsor teams. Banks and building societys. Estate agencies.

Has anyone asked the above, or our we just going to stick our heads in the sand. They can say one of two things .....
I was told that "Wurth" had contacted Barry, don't know if there was any movement on that. I'll have a word on Saturday. On another note, a point was made in respect of possible free advertising (Coomes for example). My initial feeling was that all unpaid adverts should be removed, however, that could leave our ground a bit bare which could put off others from advertising.
I agree we should get rid of all unpaid ads AND start playing in the new Vandanel kit minus sponsor and then when/if we secure a new one simply get their name printed onto it.
The Benefit of playing in the new kit with NO sponsor on it, is get past the first one or two qualifying rounds of the cup and someone may come in. Anticipating a 1st round appearance and possible TV Coverage. Then you can go for a newspaper or redbull etc etc.
Also someone may see the blank shirts in the press etc and deceide they would like to sponsor and have a calculated gamble that we make the first round proper. NATURALLY if we get to the 4th qual then the sponsorship cost would be a lot more to a new sponsor five figures plus minimum for the rest of the season and maybe a lot more. If we show we are sponsorless it might go in our favour. Thanks to Coomes for the past but they are getting Site adverts, hoarding and Shirt sponsorship and they decided to end their sponsorship.
Lets have the New Kit worn on saturday, may even give a bit of a funky feel good factor. Also get it up on the main website and take online orders, will bring in some money.

This would be good, the club shop looks extremely bare to the point of embaressment at the moment and Peter told me that the lack of stock is driving him bonkers.
The sooner we can get some merchandise in the better but again budget and money must come into it somewhere.
Only thing with merchandise, especially club strips, is that we don't sell a lot of them, and if we get a load in then money is tied up in them until they are all sold.
A good cup run and a first round tie away from home though would solve this as it did a few years ago against Huddersfield when we got a new kit and shifted a fair few.

i did give him some England programs to flog so at least they are in there
If cashflow is restricted then I can appreciate the reluctance of holding a large stock. However, on a personal note I never feel the urge to go and have a look myself of what actually is in the club shop. If people like me don't even go into the club shop then the job of the club is to come up with a way of getting me in there. OK so how? How about giving out cards whereby when it has been stamped or signed a certain number of times it would allow me to get a free/discounted item. The value of the item would dictate the number of stamps required. I don't spend money in the club shop but I do elsewhere in the ground and that is where the club could get extra money from me. When I arrive at the ground I am encouraged to get a programme; a scratch card and then over to get my bonus ball number, but not at any point am I enticed into the club shop.

Maybe the WSU could stump and the money? A few years back we had a fair bit of stock it in and things like hats, scarves, keyrings, pennants, pens, mugs, pin badges, polo t-shirts etc and these things sell (if they didn't we couldn't have an empty club shop now).
So long as you don't buy a stupid amount of stock it's a low risk 'investment' and easy way of making a few pounds,.
Crikey, I never thought of that. Does E&B&Q have the right to sell advertising space in the ground and along the pitch perimeter? If so, the Wings have sold themselves short.

On reflection, if E&B&Q does have the right to advertise on the pitch perimeter hoardings I would have thought that the Wings were perfectly within their rights to insist that these adverts are only displayed at E&B&Q home matches.
If E&B&Q or its advertisers wish to appeal to a wider Wings audience at Welling home matches, they should have to pay for that unless the lease terms specify otherwise.

HA HA HA DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYONE AT THE CLUB WOULD BE BOTHERED TO GO AROUND TAKING DOWN ADVERTISING HOARDINGS BEFORE A GAME, AND THEN PUT THEM BACK UP AFTERWARDS. I RECKON MOST ADVERTISING BOARDS STAY THERE UNTIL THEY FALL DOWN, WHETHER THE FEES ARE PAID TO WELLING, E+B OR EVEN STILL PAID AT ALL.
Have we tried the vauxhall garage just up left going towards bexleyheath (before coombes)
If they sponsor us - i kindly remember their name

W J Kings just bought a Suzuki from them but was told they were approached when Welling were in the GM Conference and turned us down. Very unlikly they would repent in the current financial climate. I will be honest and say if I had known this before I would have got a car elsewhere.
