Charlie is obviously on the way up. I don't know where he's been playing before he joined the Wing's but with his talent of scoring I'm sure the likes of Millwall and Crystal Palace will be watching him.
Agree-is he better than Danny Kedwell was for us in his prime, proably not.
Assuming hes in his early twenties if he aint made it by now and has been released by a couple of clubs hes proably found his mark. Still a good player at this level though
Danny Kedwell will play in the football league. He is a good all round footballer, not just a goalscorer.
Charlie Sheringham will always score goals at this level. I doubt if he would any higher and when he doesn't score he offers nothing. Jon Main scored regularly at this level but he does not get into the AFC Wimbledon team all the time, and Ross Montague is now playing alongside Keds.
Sheringham will never play higher as he does not have the desire to do so. Kedwell in my opinion is not only MUCH better than Charlie but he has a much higher desire to be better as well.
If Charlie wanted it more then maybe he could go on to bigger things because as he reminded us on Sat he can score goals.

Life is about choices of the two I would prefer Keds
Yes it is about Choices, and both players chosed to better themselves,
There is only one Charlie Sheringham LOL
Thanks Charlie
PS can you keep scoring until the tribunal is done, whilst some say it doesnt matter, it cant help that hes scored sackloads. Especially when we suggest that he was tapped up last year whilst under contract :)
As Bobby Brown once sang, two can play that game.
Interesting that Stortford offered a fee thats been turned down and it was several thousand? We will get 25k plus a nice sell on. For a player that didnt want to play for us. We should be hoping he does the business and some mugs sign him.

In my view a player (any player) should NOT be allowed to play for the NEW team UNTIL ALL MONIES ARE PAID
The fact that this has dragged on for so long is a disgrace
The players registraion should remain with the selling club until all sorted
You wouldnt sell someone a car or a house without getting the money would you
The reality of the situation is that we are not selling Sheringham but receiving a compensation payment since he was out of contract and chose not to renew it, thus you cannot compare the situation with selling a car/house.
The real issue in my opinion is the timeframe for compensation payments which have to go to arbitration. As it stands a club can pick up an out of contract player, make a derisory compensation offer in the knowledge that they are going to pay more at a much later date when the zimmer frames eventually reach the table at the FA. Hence we have a situation where we have played a quarter of our league fixtures and we still don't have the cash injection into our budget in respect of a player whose slide down the levels of football we halted and who was the previous season's 5th highest goalscorer (same number of league goals as Kedwell but one position higher than Kedwell) and is currently the top goalscorer in the league.
It would be interesting to know how many arbitration cases arose in the closed season and how many have been determined.
I think we should eventually get around the 12K mark with a sell on which if Stortford do as Grays did when they sold Kedwell to AFC Wimbledon is worth sod all.

I think Charlie S. and Danny K. are both exceptional players - they just have different styles. Danny is the rough, tough centre forward with skill, Charlie is more of a poacher who can make a goal out of nothing.
While I am sad that Charlie went to Bishops Stortford, it was a bit of a no-brainer: a team much closer to home paying, presumably, more money.
As regards the Tribunal, what is the reason for such a long delay in arranging a hearing? Surely it cannot be excused solely because the FA moved its office?

I disagree with Bruno (Not the first time and wont be the last)
At our level it is all about money......IF we had got the 12k or whatever it will be at the start of the season things may have been different
I dont care whether it was a contract or not a contract....rules are rules and if they state that money is due to the club where the player comes from then that should be paid BEFORE he is allowed to play
