Not sure if it would work personally but the Dolby/Rutherford combo has to be a major contender - just look where they have got Hastings to so far this season.
Dolby left them once citing travelling as being the major problem before being tempted back. Assuming he is still based fairly locally to us and with some experience behind him, they must be in with a major shout if, of course, they are interested in taking over......
Ruthers was Dobla's Assistant in his previous spell at Hastings but when he returned to Hastings in February the Assistant Manager post was filled by Simon Balsdon and Ruthers became coach so perhaps he prefers a purely coaching role to that of Assistant Mnager.
Assistant Manager Simon is a former Tonbridge Angels player and when injury cut short his playing career became their Assistant Manager/Coach to their reserve side. He is a EUFA qualified coach and for the last 2 years has also been one of the coaches to the very successful Kent County Youth Under 16 and Under 18.
I agree that if the trio were interested in moving to Welling they would be in with a big shout and their combined knowledge of and contacts within the Kent players fraternity at all ages has to be a major plus.

"The worst thing you can do is make a committment and not meet it and I understand that." Barrie Hobbins 14 August 2010
According to interview on Kent On Line, Barrie Hobbins is looking for a young and ambitious manager.
Alan Kimble, Assistant Manager to Liam Daish for 4 years at Ebbsfleet, would be an ideal choice as Manager for Welling. I am sure that he would not deterred by the "limited" budget that Andy Ford was not able to work with. It is highly likely that Alan Kimble has an extensive Contact List, in view of his playing and management experience. and would give total commitment to the job.
Don't tell anyone but I'll let you into a little secret. I've just returned home after an afternoon with representatives from Welling United. Got the call last night and was invited out to lunch today in Zorba's restaraunt down the high street. After a nice meze and a few bottles of Greek beer the contract was pushed over to my side of the table for my legal team and myself to cast our eyes over. All seemed to be there in black and white, no hidden agenda, just a good old plain simple contract. When asked about the benefits I was informed of the following; Free entry to home matches. Free programme. Free cup of tea.
As a young (156) and ambitious person with excellent man-management skills and a proven track record of success in subbuteo I know I fit the criteria.
I'm going out down the Falconwood Club to think it over.
In My opinion, I would Like to see a manager with contacts (an im not talking lenses), Ok I'm a relative new comer to the club and some of the Old Players mentioned Are new names to me. But as I've mentioned before Dack was a great asset to the club because of his Contacts. Therefore If The Club Could Get someone with Higher league experience I feel this would help, The Other side of this would probably be what wages they would want as experience costs!!
Not Knowing much about The Compensation Payments Would the club have to Find a manager who is Currently Unattached.?
Ps.... As A Woman It Would Be Preferable to Have A Manager With Nice LEGS and 2 Of Them Would Be Nice Or what with equal oppotunties, pc, etc... Hope Powell and we can chat about Avon!!!! Hahaha

OK, so at the moment, we are in the deep stuff and possibly even an experienced manager would not be able to lift us away from where we stand at the moment. So what about bringing back Chris Moore as manager? He has been in the game long enough and surely has contacts. I appreciate that he hasn't got the qualifications at this level, but everyone has to start somewhere.
Definitely need someone experienced who has been in the game, Fordy had a break.
I am sure the club will let slip the calibre of applicants in the next few days . I do feel they SHOULD advertise it. I guess they have their reasons for not advertising it.

Trig - i be your able assistant, if your DESPERATE -BBB
Just to let you all know... I've turn the position down as first team coach, they only expected me to do an eight hour day. I've never done a day's work in my life and I'm not going to start now. Apologies to all those who sent me letters and left telephone messages for me to take it.

I heard yesterday that Jamie Day is in line for a return to us, possibly as a player manager, looked on Dartfords forum and there seems a bit of concern he did not play yesterday
I hope all this about a young and upcoming manager aint true. Fair enough if we were mid table but we're right at the bottom and without question, until well clear of those around us, are in a relegation fight.
And what I forgot to add was, we need an experienced man for this. Maybe someone who's come in and rescued a club before. So someone of Andy Ford's ilk basically.

I like Daisy but hes too young and no experience. Player Managers do not work.
Robbins, Smith etc etc.
Also Daisy chose to play at Grays and stay at Dartford. Again one for the future or possible Reserves coach, youth coach or number 2 to work his way up in future.

The good part about Daisy if he did come back in some way is you get a decent midfielder with 4 or 5 years in him.
If he was thinking of the future then a return in some capacity would benefit him. Like others though we need experience and contacts in the situation we are in.
Unless Lee gets them firing pretty quickly.

Someone has been posting Jamie is coming back for a year on here. With 30 applications you would assume at least 15 of those would be "more right" than appointing Daisy at this time. That is not to say that at some stage in the future he wouldnt be a good choice for coach or manager.
People such as Mooro, Abbo, Daisy would be fine as reserves coach for a year, building up to number 2 then manager.
We simply need a hard, experienced but youngish Manager or a manager and assistant who have got results elsewhere.
Would be nice to hear some of the names that have applied. We could all be talking about people but far better candidates have applied.

I agree with JGFC an Think Patsy Said The same About An experienced manager and like Patsy I Agree One With contacts Would Be Advantageous.
Out Of Curiosity.. I see that Moore mentioned on a couple of posts. When Smith went Am I right in saying that Mooro And Richard Carpenter filled in til Fordy Came along, And Anyone know what happened to Carpenter!!
