jgfc andy ford keeps on about the budget he knew what it was at start of season he brought most of these players here this season its wearing thin with me now hopefully protheroe holds it steady until new manager arrives shallot
Any respect I may have had for Andy Ford is nearly gone. He walks out after getting us in a mess, then blames the club for not being ambitious. He brought in poorer players than what we already had and let good players go. This was his side. We are 18th in the league - there will be many teams on smaller budgets well above us in the table.

I cannot believe some of the comments that Andy Ford comes out with. He appears to have a giant ego and is not half as good as he thinks he is!
It is certainly good news that Welling did not provide him with the Budget that he thinks he ought to have had to achieve a Play Off place because he would have probably wasted it, especially if you look at the quality of some of the players that he has brought into the Club this season.
To be fair, I think that he did well to avoid relegation in his first season and, last season, he probably over-achieved to attain 7th position BUT, this season, he has been an absolute disaster in his poor judgment of the ability of players.
In view of his overall poor performance and, in particular, his poor judgment of players this season, it is highly unlikely that he will receive any offers from a quality Club especially as he has walked out on us and left us in a right mess.
In the words of the well known Pop Record, Mr. Ford, WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH, THE TOUGH GET GOING. Sadly, you were not up for the fight, very sad indeed!
I have enjoyed my time at the club over the last two seasons and have achieved what I set out to do, but this season has not lived up to my expectations. Budgets have been cut, injuries have been unprecedented. I feel that it is time for a new fresh approach for someone else to try and take this great family club forward.

What does this mean?
It means he is trying to make himself not look like a failure.
Well said john c. In my opinion it is obvious where last years team got their spirit and tactics from.........Jimmy Dack!!!!!!!.... Ford has shown this season it wasn`t him who had the team performing well last season. The reason why the team are so clueless this season is because they have lost Jimmy Dack`s training ground influence. Last season we had a team. This season 11 headless chickens. No plan A.B OR C. No spirit. And now No manager.............Cheers Mr Ford
Isn't it amazing how only a couple of weeks ago we were backing Andy - criticising anyone who suggested that he should go - now we must wonder why we didn't hang him in the goal mouth. I know the situation changed when he walked - but he had built up a lot of anger that has now been unleashed.
I include myslef in this - just an observation - not having a pop at anyone

Hes finished to be fair, What kind of reference would he get from the Club. Its the little pops and hints at innuendo when he QUIT, that leave the nasty taste.

In my opinion the banner headline and the first paragraph of the article sensationalises the position. Fordy is a manager and like any manager wants to manage at the highest level he can and to ensure its survival the Club want to play at the highest level they can sustain within the resources available. Despite my perception that there have been changes in ambition at the Club over the last couple of years in my opinion the two sides are not yet compatible.
Working within a limited budget any mistake in signing players can be disastrous and Fordy has admitted that he made a few mistakes and going out of the FA Cup obviously means there will be no additional and possibly less budget available.Despite having what I believe to be a decent core of players I would suggest that he knew that he couldnt repeat the performance of the last season and a half and did the best thing he could do for the Club and that is resign and give someone else to take up the challenge of achieving a decent position in the BSS this season.
Only the players could confirm this but at his first Meet The Manager Evening Fordy made what I believe was a very telling comment about his partnership with Jimmy Dack and that related to Jimmy being far more comfortable with changes in the game e.g. agents and the way you relate to players. In these circumstances with Dacks departure I think taking a gamble on an inexperienced assistant was high risk and unfortunately it did not pay off.Experienced younger manager and inexperienced assistant = reasonable to good odds. Oldschool experienced manager and inexperienced assistant = high risk.
I hope that having vented spleens supporters will be able to take a more balanced view of Fordy's spell at PVR.

What is harder to take is he was asked on Radio london, did you feel any pressure that your job was on the line. He said NO!
So he just took the easy option and left us in the crap to try and rectify his mistake. He could have got an experienced coach in for a bit , tried a team bonding excercise looked at a loan or two. But he just said i have had enough, see ya and good luck.
