You must know The Fox on the Hill then. Used to be one of my regular haunts but is now a Spoons. I'm a Brixton lad.
One of my best mates had a cab firm near there for many years, the love of my life lived in Denmark Hill (hope the wife doesn't read this) and my Mum died there in Kings so good and bad memories.
Sale on-walked past the Turnpike today and from 4th Jan (I think for 2 weeks) Ruddles is 99p. It could be a good night for a fiver or a complete disaster for a tenner
if only you guys could pass on some of your dedication and enthusiasm for the booze-game to the players for their games, we would have no problems for the rest of the season :0) wishing you all a very wet (internally, of course) new year

This is rightly headed disaster. No Real Ale in clubhouse, no guest beer in Turnpike, no points for Welling after bossing first 35 minutes then going behind.

There were plenty of guest ales in the Turnpike on Christmas Day. I guess all those people that turned up not too long before i left, drunk the place dry :D
Sounds like the first two weeks in January are sorted out for me :) Maybe see some of you lot in there next month.
They had a Hook Norton and Abbott Reserve when I went in today. At 5.5 and 6.5% I would say it was well worth the visit after that Poxy display down the road
After a few pints of Abbots Reserve you'd probably think you'd just watched a World Cup Final :D That stuff is good and can change reality. I think next time i go to a Welling game, i should go down the pub first! Can anyone tell me if Hobgoblin is on yet at the Turnpike? It was 'coming soon' last Friday. As far as the match is concerned, it wasn't unexpected really. It reminded me of the Boxing Day match in 2007. The Welling players all looked like they had had double helpings of everything for Christmas dinner!
I:m beggining to think that the interest in the booze at the Turnpike is more interesting than the football at the moment
Well, I've seen all 5 home games this month and tried the majority of the festive ales in the Turnpike, and quite frankly going to the pub was more fun :) I'm giving home games a miss for a while until the team remember what a football looks like. I might as well reserve a seat at the local :D
I got a great Christmas present from my son. 24 bottles of beer from 24 different countries. I've just tried Baadoc from Mongolia. Not bad but the Bengal Tiger is best so far.
