Is he back? Is he due back? without wishing to annoy Bruno , he is a squad player and its a relevant question. I personally couldnt give a toss what Sky think, i am just interested if and when one of our players will be available or has he left to join a team in Italy.
Also Clarke, where was he Monday and is he back or gone?

He signed a one year deal after the Charlton pre-season match. Was he released from his contract so he could go to Italy? If not then he could go for money or a Bosman.
Gary Ben could not have signed a one year contract which I'm fairly sure I said at the time. He was under 18 and still in full time education and as such the FA rules and regulations relating to players under the age of 18 prevent him from being contracted. What is likely is that there would have been registration with the Football Conference and an understanding that whenever he played he would get £x (expenses + I would suspect loss of potential earnings from a Saturday job.) There are managers who get young players to sign a 'contract' and have them believe that they are contracted for obvious reasons but the truth is they are not, they are merely registered with the relevant league making them eligible to appear for the team in competitive matches.
For information Extract from The FA's Rules of the Association "C. RULES RELATING TO PLAYERS Players with Written Contracts 1 (a) Minimum Age (i) A Player under 18 years of age and in receipt of full-time education2may not enter into a contract of employment with a Club in membership of The Association and/or an Affi liated Association. (ii) A Player under 17 years of age may not enter into a contract of employment with a Club in membership with The Association and/or an Affi liated Association, except under a Scholarship as provided for by Rule C3.
2 Throughout these Rules full-time education refers to a child who is of compulsory school age within the meaning of the Education Acts applying in England or who is over the school leaving age but is for the time being attending a school or in full-time education in an establishment of further education.
A thought which has occured to me is that perhaps Ben is on trial at Watford.

From what I saw of him, he was a good little player with a lot of pace, and a nice touch, maybe a bit lightweight for our level. He also can be quite frustrating at times in terms of not taking the easy option, but at the end of the day he is only young and Watford have a very good academy system, so I'm sure he will develop well at yours.
