We are in a perilous position near the relegation zone and so we appoint a manager with no previous experience. This looks like another classic Hobbins appointment i.e. young manager who will be polite and not ask for more money and most importantly will be cheap.
I hope I am proved wrong but I think this could be a very poor decision by the Hobbins. Daisy will need all of our support and a good number 2. Perhaps Phil Handford?
If thats the case (and its there on tape) then its unfortunately a financial decision and some good Managers were over looked. I take into account that the number 2 has not been announced so its not as if Jamie was appointed with a number 2 already agreed. I think its crucial that a number 2 whos in the game NOW, not been out for a year, who has some balls and some character and has had success... is appointed.
Everyone will be 110% behind Daisy. Hes gonna need some help and luck and to pull a few rabbits out the hat re players.
Is he ruthless enough to say bye to a few players, even those that arent on contract but injured if we have any?
For Assistant for me...
Kimble Dack Dolby or Ruthers
Anyone else not as experienced and get the beads out and pray.
This without doubt is one of the biggest of not the biggest gamble ever taken by the Wings. I would be disappointed if Handford came back for a few reasons, the most notable is that he has by admission not even seen a game for ages.

I'm quite surprised but when you look at what Barrie said in the press he has gone with his original criteria....
Hobbins (pictured) declared: "I want someone young and ambitious, as simple as that. "It would be ideal to have someone who is keen and enthusiastic.
Makes you wonder if and why the club interviewed more experienced managers.
Being only 30 is my only real worry but then if he has the coaching badges then he should be ok. He plays the right way, has passion so good luck to him.
If it all gets sorted then it will make our Kent Cup game interesting with Dartford!
JGFC in my opinion there is 0% chance of either Dack, Kimble or Dolby joining as no.2. From what I understand Handford played a very big role alongside Ade P. I believe his appointment would bring some kind of sense to this mad gamble by Barrie and Barry.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
Wouldn't Graham Hobbins be the youngest ever Welling manager. He was 37 when he took Welling into the conference and had managed Welling for at least ten years (apart for a brief break when Tony Sitford took charge) when the Wings were promoted.
If Graham Hobbins was 37 when he got Welling into the conference I would imagine that he had been managing Welling since his mid twenties at least. Barrie would know. Graham Hobbins was definitely manager when welling moved to Park View Road I dont know how long he was in charge before then.
However, I take your point regarding Terry Robbins as Welling were in a much higher league when he took charge. I would imagine it was only the Metropolitan or Spartan league when Graham took charge
The Blue Square South club failed to approach Dartford for Days services, after the midfielder believed that he had an agreement to leave the Princes Park outfit, despite still having six months of his contract to run.

So it was Dartford fault as i said, Tell the guy he can go, then renage on it.
Right again JgFc
Welling did NOTHING wrong.
Does it really matter now who was right and who was wrong, the thing is we need to get on with our season and let the darts get on with there season. Lets stop this now
You may be slightly different to me, in that if you are accusued of stuff, made out to be cheating, and devious you accept it.
Welling Utd have been accused of all sorts by people and had their name tarnished.
Clearly,these people havent a clue.
All i am doing is making sure those that tarnish our club that did nothing wrong, should look at their own club where nobody seems to know what each other is doing.
If you are looking for who is tinpot, look down the road.

I'm no lawyer, but this still sounds like it was us in the wrong. We 'failed to approach Dartford', suggesting we didn't go through the correct channels, and 'the midfielder believed he had an agreement to leave the Princes Park outfit', sounds like we took his word in the belief that he was allowed to leave over a written contract.
And the end of the day I couldn't give a flying fook what happened. Lets just get on with our season and concentrate on staying up.
IF (and that's a big if) this 'agreement' was genuine, do you really think Dartford would let him come to us for gratis? Don't forget, we are essentially their biggest rivals due to locality. Imagine if it were the other way round...We would be fuming that someone from our club has gone there for nothing.
If he was under contract, then legally we have no leg to stand on. We paid the money, we got our man, let's move on and concentrate on the forthcoming season.
