I think Lee did a good job for us as a player and caretaker manager. I hope he does well in whatever he does next :) I'm glad i got to see him play in his last game for the Wings, and he played really well to.

I can only say not to surprised that lee as been released, but do find it incredible that he,s the first out the door.
Andy sambrook needs to show massive improvement from now on.
MR Day must have a right back in mind as cover or even to play, i have already stated i believe ryan johnson, is more than capable.
WE ALSO NEED A BIG STRONG STRIKER ADRIAN STONE IS NOT THE ANSWER.

Sorry to see Lee go. A nice bloke and I hope whoever comes in as replacement has as much experience.

Good luck Lee wherever you end up.

Daisy was at Grays with Sambrook.Obviously released one of the 2 right backs to bring in a striker.

Thank you Lee, you will remembered as one of the good guys.

Massive thanks to Lee. Really surprised to see him go. If we do remain in a dogfight to stay up I hope we don't miss such an experienced player. Hope Jamie is doing the right thing here!
But best of luck to Lee for whatever he does next, be it playing or coaching.

Bit surprised by this - wrong place at the wrong time for Lee.  He has paved the way for Daisy and got the team believing in itself again. Judging by his short spell as caretaker, I think he will make it in management.  Good luck Lee - one of the game's nice guys.

Gutted to see Lee go just after he had started to get us out of the mire. To me it echos Ford getting rid of Chris Moore. 2 new managers and in my opinion 2 wrong decisions.

I am going to disagree with a couple here I am afraid......***ducking for cover****

I think letting Moore go was right and I think letting Lee go is probably right too.....

I also think it is REALLY interesting the interview with Clarke on KentOnline.....have a read....the atmosphere has changed considerably

Pugh in will help...Clareke and Sambrook playing much better

Finn looks transformed and it is odd that Faz is now fit.........Strange how a change makes so much difference

...."it is odd that Faz is now fit".....?????
He has been working his way back to fitness after several weeks out with a serious injury to his tendons/ligaments above his knee .... an injury that takes time to heal. Otherwise he has always been very fit and giving 100% .... nothing to do with the new manager.

Lee   -   Sorry to see you go.    You did an exceptional  job when Welling were in a total state of disarray due to Mr. Ford resigning abruptly after the loss at Dover.

Trust that Jamie Day has a first class replacement for you!

I hope that Jamie have not acted hastily and does not have cause to regret this decision but I have my doubts as your experience and organisational ability on the field with the younger players would have been invaluable in the present situation as we are not  out of the relegation battle yet.

You will always be welcome back at Park View Road and, once again, thank you for all that you have done for the Club.

Lee's football was all up in the air which wont be missed. And as for management, one up front with a striker who hasnt scored, well work it out yourself.

Much has already been said but bearing in mind our current injury an suspensions across the defence I find the timing a bit strange before the weekends tough game

Wow, just got in and read the above. Very surprised.
I was never Mr protheroe's biggest fan but always gave him 100% support. I sincerley hope that he has been recognised by other clubs for what he has done at Welling United. He proved that he has the ability to bring positives to his team mates; his club and the supporters.
He leaves with my best wishes.

That's him as manager, which fair play to him he did well. But as a player he was a different story no

Rubbish about Moore! The effect of his departure was probably neutral though.

Looks like Jamie is working at the squad faster than he predicted. he said that he would give the players 2-3 games, but has decided on one. Hopefully we have the money for quality replacements.

Bearing in mind Mambo's potential loan move to Dover, injuries to our current defence and players cup tied releasing Lee leaves us a little short. He was deemed surplus to requirements in view of Sambrook yet always said that he wanted to stay at the club. Maybe more than meets the eye here

I'm yet to be convinced re Mr Sambrook and hope he proves me wrong. From what I see so far he is injury prone and has had more than one stinker particularily when he was subbed at half time when he couldn't trap a bag of cement. The ine up across the back for the weekend could be interesting.

Good luck Proths, hope all goes well whereever you go
