We're about to start the 2nd half of the season.

Im not really sure on Finn, ok he's got bags of pace, plenty of fancy foot work but sometimes he just seems to disappear in matches. On occasions he's got to the byline and where the easy/best option is to play it back keeping possesion he holds it too long and loses possesion. Similar to Sanchez Ming in a way but without Tackling.

At the moment I really feel that if it wasn't for lack of squad he would be a bench warmer rather than a starter.

I don't mean to sound hard on the player and this is just my opinion but if anyone can convince me otherwise please feel free to respond.!!! disbelief

Finn played his best football when Ford jumped ship and Proths was in charge. So did the rest of the squad IMO. So far Daisy,Ashby,Frost and Co haven`t impressed me at all. The team has gone backwards under them. It`s true and you all know it. I welcome Daisy as a player........... Manager.......Nah.

Its hard for me to comment, having missed a lot of the early games under Day, but despite losing yesterday I thought we played some decent football at times. At least in my opinion we were trying to do the right thing and pass it. First half hour we dominated them, 2 sloppy mistakes and we were punished. So from what I've seen we havent gone backwards since Day's arrival.

Oh and I agree Finn goes missing. One of the goals yesterday Finn was partly at fault for because he simply didnt track back, meaning Deane had no chance of stopping the two men from knocking it around him and getting the ball in the box.

To me its about keeping us up and consolidatng this season-Daisy will have his chance next year when he can be judged against what he does.

However that does not excuse what he has inherited and making the use of what he he has got and making the right calls releasing King was not one of them

If thats what Dasy thinks " oh just stay up, forget about the play offs & save money "
Whats the point of turning up ..Driving 100s of miles, to watch a team that does'nt seem to care, who may or may not be with us next year.
i want to see my team, give 100% each game.
To see our captain lead his players, to hear his voice out there ........

We must be related because i fill the same ..... I love this club i really do met some great people and made top mates from here ..... but on the football side of things and the way this club is run we are going to be a mid table side for the next ten years of my life ..... many have said lets wait till next year .... get some new blood in and build from there ...... Daisy left two on the bench his own signings so he must like to a degree with what Ford had to play with???

Not lsating his managment at all but a bit starnge and the first two signings are the newer version of the chuckle bros ... i dream of having a play off game where there is something at stake thats all i want to start with a game that means that lil bit more ... i hope it happens before i turn 30!

I couldnt agree more, its just that our form at the moment dictates that the above will be needed to avoid a relegation battle

Some good points made above but they are all coming from the heart rather than the brain.

With my vastly superior footballing knowledge I can confidently say that we will definately finish within the play-offs, and that's if we have a poor second half of the season. I can't see anything other that us getting automatic promotion.

Simple.

LOL i agree with the pushing on attitude. We got to 11th and were 4 points off the play offs and its gone a bit sh1t since then, iffy performances, iffy managerial decisions.

Lets hope Daisy can get back on track. We seem to have gone off the rails a bit. High mid table would be ok this year.

Wheres this charlton youth player? plus the other one coming to PVR?

Looks  good on the ball but very lightweight and plays the wrong ball a lot. How many times have we stood there waiting for him to take his man on and get to the line and put a quality ball in across the box only for him to cut inside into a blind alley or be knocked off the ball then give up or put in some half hearted challenge and fail to put the oppo defender under any decent pressure.
Very very very frustrating !!!!
Needs to show more desire and commitment and be stronger.
It dont matter how many times you take a tackled or dont get the ball across [ opportunities during the game will come] but give it your all and be a constant handfull and a number one pain in the backside to them ,make them worry  and dont stop running and chasing ,put them under pressure if they get the ball off ya so they make mistakes or opt to put it out for a throw in.
come on Finn make it your new years resolution !!!!

Finn has been nothing short of pathetic in the last two or three games that I have seen. Surely if he goes "missing" he has to have been somewhere in the first place?!

No committment, a distinct lack of effort and when he is in position to run at people he just passes the buck. He and Faz in the same team is a luxury at this level although it seems the manager prefers the former judging on his team selection at Stalebuns.

I would like to be proved wrong but I think Mr Finn doesn't have his heart in it for one reason or another.......

He's a big girls blouse its as simple as that. He even admitted in the press that he didnt like tackling !!

He has all the skill required, but his ability to use it in the right areas and actually create some end product that results in goals/corners/penalties etc is completely non-existant at present.

I am very much of the opinion that Finn is onvastly more money than Hurrell and Faz, and probably on a contract, and that is pretty much why he is being selected at present. Was very glad to see him go off the field yesterday, he did nothing again. Not one cross in 70-80minutes for a winger ... unacceptable.

Also, why why why was Hurrell on the right side of the field in the second half when Finn was on the right ?? madness.

interestingly I notice the St Albans site has their number 4 down as having a foot injury following Hobbs's "high tackle" / red card.

Cant quite fathom how a high tackle can lead to a foot injury....

Anyhow, it hasnt been mentioned yet, I was watching the ref at the time of the Hobbs tackle and as the St Albans number 4 was going to clear the ball the referee turned his back to avoid getting the ball blasted into his face ... Hobbs did then lunge in, and did catch the guy as obvious by the substitution straight after, but what is not on is that the referee made the decision to give a red card based on the reaction of the St Albans players, and the exageration of the incident by the St Albans number 4. Where is the justice.

If Finn had the kind of commitment that Hobbs / Andrews / Day showed then he would be quite some player ...

Dover are in a play off place with 38 points. If we win our game in hand on them we are only 4 points behind. I still think the play offs are a possiblity as there are a lot of inconsistent teams in the league.

Perhaps dropping Finn will make him buck his ideas up.

Team so much better today against Bromley - No Mr Finn (say no more)

But i'am - You can not carry at this level a lightweight (not in the physical sense, but mentally) if you watch the video against Bromley at home, he was no where need the right midfielder Ashley Carew, when he crossed for secong goal. Althou Mr Andrews did not hold the line well at far post and kept the scorer on side

I think people are being a bit hard on Finn. I think he's a very good player that just needs some decent coaching. He can terrorise defences but needs to do it every game. Good coaching will make him a much better player.

Destroy him ?? Have you been on the sherry again ?!

Also I disagree about the coaching thing as well. You coach kids not adults - by this stage of his "career" I don't think you can improve him in actual football terms but you can improve him tactically and what he produces during a game.

I think that, undoubtedly, Finn has plenty of talent. However I suspect, like a number of Welling fans, the least we expect from our players is effort and committment. Sadly Mr Finn has been lacking severely on both counts in the last few weeks.

Of course you can coach adults. Any player in the world beit Ronaldo or Finn can improve with good coaching. Learning tactics is all part of coaching.

Now this is what's great about a forum, differences of opinions, I love it.
Maybe what has made this thread so interesting is that many people believe that Mr Finn does have the ability at this level but can be so frustrating to watch.
I don't think anyone is out to destroy him but actually want to have him as part of our team but to have confidence of what we are going to get from him. At the moment that confidence is lacking due to his hot and cold performances. What does he need? Coaching, Managing or having a mentor or a combination of a few things, who knows.
Personally, when anyone puts on a Welling shirt he gets all of our support and I'm confident that will continue.

Excuse me Mr Boom Boom Bally, I am 156 years old and are you saying that it's too late for me to be coached? My dear friend Spitey has tried for years to coach me into buying him a pint on match days, mind you I don't have the disire or backbone to go to the bar, so maybe your right.

MR DAY dropped finn, he must now work harder while at training,MR FINN is not being destroyed on this forum.
BOOM BOOM BALLY, stated finn is to old to be coached totally agree 25+ if he dont know what a winger does now he never will, also its not like we are his first club.
I admit i am not FAZZA;S biggest fan and not convinced he is the answer, but credit where due FAZZA played well against bromley and i made him MOTM in another game recently.

At 156 years old I felt that I was too stuck in my ways and that I was uncoachable.
However, my personal fitness trainer found a way to get me off the sofa and start walking around. She put a strap around my head with a rod sticking out of the front with a cake dangling in front of me but just out of arms reach. I soon got up and started chasing this cake. My point is that people can be encouraged to do things if the right incentive is used.

I bow down to your wisdom my dear dogkilla.

All I can I can say is that at 156 years old I am not young enough to know everything. And that may go for others, maybe even footballers of 25 and over.
