Apparently Jamie is sending a strong side tonight. After the contract problems when he left them i suppose he really wants to beat them. Hope the players are fired up for it.
Just been on the dartford site and its the following for tonight.....
Tuesday
26th January 2010 Welling United
Kent Senior Cup
k.o. 19:45
-------------------
£ 10.00 Adult
£5.00 Concession
£1.00 Children
Think this price is poor and if anyone knows why such price please enlighten me. And if a reasonable answer is submitted i wont complain. But cant believe I've Had cheaper tickets for a premiership match this season and european games this season both have been £5 and yet This is only the kent Senior Cup.
I Just hope they do a programme today rather than An A4 sheet of paper.
in a lighter note..I Shall be there though to cheer on the Wings.
I think we also charge full wack for these games too. The gate is split so I guess they want to make as much as possible. I would guess with a cold night like tonight that dropping the prices by a couple of quid is not likely to increase the gate. Instead they are happy to exploit the true and loyal fans who turn up what ever.
I think exploit is a bit strong. Welling's normal 1st team admission is £10 as is Dartford's so it is usual rates in what to the best of my knowledge is a competition devoid of prizemoney so there isn't really much scope for reduced rates.
The comparative cost of non league football may be high but that is the price we are forced to pay to ensure its survival. Personally I believe that the FA and the Premier League could easily pump more money into the Football Conference, particularly the Premier League but I suspect there is more chance of hell freezing over.

The reason Dartford charge so much is because the council get a lot of the other revenue as they own the ground and facilities. I think the council gets food, bar money etc. Dartford only get the gate.
could be wrong but i know they don't, or can't, coin it in like a lot of other clubs.
Hi guys! My name is Jack Fielder, and I am a dartford fan. I will be apart of the commentary team tonight, so if any fans are unable to make the game tonight, but are near a computer, then why not listen in to:
Tune in from around 7.30pm-ish to hear the pre-match analysis. Also, you can email your thoughts on the game or the commentary service by emailing puredfc@googlemail.com
What a one sided game, The Wings played Dartford off the pitch despite a homer as ref. Well done to Jamie and the players. Men against boys. Could have been more goals for the Wings. Any sniff Dartford had was usually after one of our passing moves broke down and they got it forward on the break.
In reply to a couple of points.
JgFc as you have slated dartford will you be at Council Park, i was. Why would Jamie go to Welling (or any of the players), because we are better.
Tonight was a one sided game where dont forget we had a number of players not playing. Daisy, Andrews,Pugh, Hurrell etc etc
We were and are literally in a different league. On tonights showing the Darts would struggle badly next year. I would bet that Jamie cherry picks one or two that he may want from Dartford.
Next round chaps for the reigning cup holders.

An excellent showing tonight and fully deserved victory with only three players who started at the weekend. I accept that they had a weaker side out too but we were by far the better team.
Well done to the young lad Marsh for two well taken goals. I thought Clarke had an excellent game and Jenkinson looked very good when he came on.
However MOTM goes to right back Saunders, Played well, took some stick off the home fans and then turned to clap them when he was taken off near the end. Top marks to him for that!!
Agree with that. Also their goal, if anyone has any idea why a free kick was given answers on a post card. The ref failed to book the blade of grass he fell over.
Despite domination from Welling, an equaliser gifted by the Ref. Welling comfortably wrapped the game up when Marsh played to the 90th minute and took two very good goals.
I bet Jamie has a smile on his face when he goes to bed tonight. Only one tea bar open outside? and about ten stewards!! for a Micky Mouse cup game. Good turn out from Welling tonight behind the goal. All the more sweeter after the hoo ha from Dartford fans when Jamie chose us over Council FC.

Agreed with everything Wingnut said. We played Dartford off the park tonight. Lets take this performance into Saturday's game and get some reenage back on Sheringham and Co

Great performance by our squad team tonight. I thought they all played well, Bakare in particular had a good game. And Adam Marsh, what a find from our reserves- quiet for most of the match and then popped up with two goals. We could have had at least two goals in the first half. Of course, to read the Dartford forum the result "flattered" us. Rubbish, we played them off the park - well, almost.

We started a bit slowly but we bossed the game from 20 mins into the first half and throughout the second. Dartford only got near us when launching long balls and falling down so the ref gave them free kicks. Thought Dartford were relying too much on getting the ball to the front two without keeping possession.
I liked to know who their number 11 was, he gave us a lovely cartwheel that got one of ours booked - what a joker.
I can't believe some of the comments on the Dartford forum - hilarious...
Pretty good performance this evening and we deserved better.
3-1 flattered them a bit but they have nothing to play for this season so the KSC is more important for them
Good to see us play football for most of the game
Yep, enjoyable game in which we were not played off the pitch as the scoreline might suggest.
A decent performance and as others have said 3-1 flattered Welling
I thought they were a physical side and a couple more cards should have shown.
3-1 flattered them a bit but they have nothing to play for this season so the KSC is more important for them
Yes 8 points off the play offs that would put us back in the highest division in non league football again.
I am really worried for Dartford next year if they think they played well. They were lighweight, ineffective and looked like they never knew eachother.

Jamie's dog won at crayford yesterday (6.11 race) and was extremely lucky, they all bumped into eachother infront and jamies dog scooted round the inside from last place and was like moses!
As soon as we started getting the ball down and passing we were far better than them. Story of our season - we have the players like Bakare who can run and scare opponents - we don't have players who can win it in the air.
I worry about Dartford thinking that they did alright. I think the goal, from a dodgy free-kick, was their first shot on target and even then I think Charlie could have done better. That was in the 82nd minute.
Got turned away from their car park half an hour before kick off apparently full. Surprised to see in Kent Messanger crowd only 502. Thought the car park would have accomodated the cars of a crowd like that.
And a meeting in the club house I was told. I thought there was going to be a large crowd and was very suprised when I got in the ground to see how few were there. Mind you we would love 500 for KSC game.
