Brilliant goalscoring Center Half and funny bloke, mate and great for the team at the time on and off the pitch. Kept a few league strikers quiet in Cup games.
Paul Barron
Best Keeper weve ever had before injuries got to him and he gave us a bit of a presence, top bloke too. Used to go mental at linesmen and refs.
Third is the hard choice and i narrowed it down to Kevin Seabury and
Tony Dolby
Just pick Dolby who should have played for Welling for many more years if he was allowed to play in his proper position. He was a tough competitor, wanted to win and christ could he hit a ball.

That'll be Dolby the penalty king ... only one keeper ever got a hand to one of his spotkicks that I witnessed, and the keeper was then substituted almost immediately after with what turned out to be a broken hand/wrist/fingers.
Would have to go for a couple of unsung heroes rather than the usual names ...
Duncan Horton as my top player, man-mountain Trevor Booker and then Mark Cooper (in his first season).
However, special mentions for comedy hair to Stuart White.
Nigel Ransom as My No 1, purely because his dad found me really bored one saturday working in my dad's shop 'Gardenwise' and said - come on lad, fancy going to see Welling? I had no idea his son was captain, no idea welling wore red, and no idea that after a painful 1-0 loss to Telford I would become a fan from that moment on. Nige even bought me a scarf and match day programme and I got it signed by all the players including Barron, Robbins, Abbo and the gang.
So, naturally Terry Robbins is my second choice, but I also loved watching Barnes and Finnan come through.
Third choice - Kedwell, the porr mans rooney - but I was going to say Lennie Dennis for comedy value - I loved how he played the offside game.

John Bartley, John Bartley and........erm.........John Bartley.
Definitely numero uno for me and my first footballing hero. The word "legend" is very much over used but it definitely applied to him.
I would also vote for Duncan Horton as runner up. A mainstay of the defence during our Conference years. I can still see the fear on forwards faces when Duncan was coming towards them!!
Bronze medal goes to Abbo. Not everyone's cup of team but the phrase "form is temporary but class is permanent" could have been written for him. Also gets included for "that goal" against Gateshead which will always be one of my all time favourite Welling memories.
The little man Terry Robins - probably the most consistently good striker I have seen at PVR.
Paul Baron - old school keeper and pretty damn good at it too.
Nigel Ransom - nice bloke, did his job well most of the time but was such a nice bloke you could forgive him for any c**k ups.
Have to agree 'that goal' that Abbo scored against Gateshead was legendary and it felt like we had won the league. The nearly men would be Whitey, Horton, Hone and John Glover.
I actually videod that game ( VHS ), gave the video to Glover to watch and i think one of his kids probably Simon at the time taped ninja turtles over it.

Odd one this as I don't really go in for the personality stuff but probably.....
Early years Rutherford for 'this is my team, you'd better work for it and the oppo had better forget messing with us' attitude.
Barron, good keeper, bit of a card and the only football player to pass me very rapidly on a bike on the way back from a match (Morecambe)... and I was doing 70 plenty (honestly constable!)
Brigden, in my recollection no barriers between manager and fans and a great contribution, felt he was somewhat harshly treated in return at Kingstonian on that fateful day.
Honourable Mention: John Farley. Knew he wasn't the best at this level, gave everything he had, did it with a smile and gave us more than a few moments to chuckle at.
Number 1 Nigel Ransom - Wore his heart on his sleeve, never gave up and would put his head in anywhere. One of my favourite memories is of him somehow making a run all the way from he back the ball breaking loose he was about to shiit and Trevor Brooker took it off his toe........ He went MENTAL!!
Number 2 Terry Robins - simply the best non-league striker I have ever seen!!!!!
Number 3 Paul Barron - Got to be, great keeper, great tan (even in the winter) Lol
Agree with Wingnut Bartley,Horton and Abbo. Look at the players that you could add to the list Townsend,Agana,Robbins,Finnan,Glover,Hone,Smelt,Spratt,Juliens and Dave Smith.
