Sorry I realise this is o/t but not everyone reads the other headings. Has anyone else see the news of a 41% beer from Scotland called Sink The Bismark? Selling at £45 for a 330cl. bottle. Seems this has been brewed to win the "Beer Wars" for the UK following a German brew of 40%. God help anyone who knocked the bottle over at those prices.
I've yet to taste one of these "strong" beers that I've liked. Most are awful and frankly if you want to drink something of 41% at £45 then get a decent bottle of malt whiskey. I recomend 18 year old Glenfiddich. It's only £38 for 750cl bottle.
On a beer topic. I tried a few pints in the Zero Degrees Bar at Blackheath recently. Happy hour between 16:00 and 19:00. £2 a pint. I tried the Pale Ale, Vienna Lager and Black Lager. All very nice.
When I'm out with my fellow patients from the institute I like to go out and get smashed on Kaliber, not sure of the alcohol content but after 2 or 3 bottles I'm anyones.
Sorry my dear Bruno, the girls wanted to go but it meant I would be the only guy. So the choice was to be the only fella with 4 girls or go out with my mates. I went out with my mates.
Just back from my trip to the Artic Circle 13 days and only 3 beers. I am not noted for being tight but I do object to paying around £8 for a glass of larger. Roll on tomorrow I can hear real ale calling
George Staples (formerly Woodman) had a lovely pint of Acorn Blonde last Saturday. I may venture there on the way home tomorrow to see what they have if the Black Sheep has all gone.

Good luck Mark, called the Staples as thats what the hospital will need to re-stitch your head wound upon leaving me thinks.
Used to work there briefly under "the Woodman" days in 2001 and knew it was time to leave when a cage-fighter bouncer got beaten up by pikies with a kosh, and then the next night someone came in with a sword as their son had been "dis-respected" by someone who was a regular there. Nice place all things considered.
The Woodman was my local until about 6 years ago. I remember when I first moved into the area that the pub had a public bar and another. The hall out back used to have good bands on a Saturday night ( Hamsters etc ) It was then changed and really went downhill. Pratts in there that had two pints of Lager and wanted to fight everyone - even worse than the schoolkids pub Jolly Fenman
