When Jamie was appointed as manager, we were in a perilous position near the bottom of the table after an erratic time on and off the field.
I felt that Jamie was given the job because he was the cheap option, and because of his inexperience I made the very hasty prediction that it would lead to our relegation from the BSS. I said that I would get behind Jamie and the team no matter what, but still thought we would be finished come May.
I now realise I was being a prat!
Jamie, I'm sorry.
You have turned the club around with virtually the same group of players you inherited and seem to have got the best out of them. You have injected a new spirit into the team and got them playing more efficient and at times more attractive football. And you have taken us from relegation candidates to play off hopefulls. Yesterday took me by complete surprise and gave me and everyone else hope for the future. I now accept that making you manager was a gamble taken in good faith by the club. So I'll say it again......
Im surprised that Daisy has let Hobbs go to Chatham and i am surprised that he hasnt had Marsh on the bench and given him 5 or 10 mins.
That said he will probably snap the lad up at AFC Wimbledon or has some ace up his sleeve.
I think the club appointed Jamie for the wrong reasons. However what ever happens its the best appointment that they ever made and he has got Welling playing the best style of football in the clubs history.
Lets hope the club are sensible enough to get him on contract, this is one manager you dont want tapped up. If he goes to a league team make sure they have to buy him out of a contract.
