As I dont know much about the history of the club Pre Welling United all I know is what i've read on various sites.
I was (for my sins) at Fulham v Wigan today and In the Programme there was an obituary for a KENNETH COLLINS, who Passed away at the Beginning of this month.
He played for Cardiff, Fulham and then finished his career at BEXLEYHEATH FC from 1961, and he was a full back.

Can Anyone Answer my curiosity and Say whether the Wings Formed from Bexleyheath FC and if He ever played for the Wings.

On A Lighter Note In recent programmes Ron Manager Has told Me, Fulham have Had
a LEE CLARK, CHARLIE MITTEN and an ELLIS GREEN play for them.blankstare

Hello Patsy.  I supported Bexleyheath and Welling, later to become Bexley United, from 1962 onwards, but I don't remember a full-back named Ken Collins although his name does register.  There was a Bexleyheath Town FC which played on land behind the Crook Log.  But I don't know whether that was the predecessor club to Bexleyheath and Welling who played at PVR first as a Kent League side managed by old Charlton centre-forward Charlie Vaughan.  They used to draw home crowds of about 4,000 in the old Kent League days before they were voted into the Southern League playing the likes of Headington United (Oxford United), Yeovil Town, Cambridge City and United, Weymouth, Bedford Town, Guildford City, Chelmsford City.  Woking were a very small club then, as were Braintree, Staines, Dover, Lewes, Grays, Maidstone, Stevenage, Crawley (whose first team played B&W reserves in the old Metropolitan League)

Bexleyheath and Welling were the founder members of the South East Counties league and, as such, were the only non-league side youth team in a division consisting of the top youth teams from teams such as Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham and Charlton.  Their youth team, Bexleyheath and Welling Colts, played Manchester United at PVR in a quarter final of the FA Youth Cup. Man U's side that day contained virtually all of the later, successful, Busby Babes side that were killed or injured on that disastrous day at Munich airport.  Among the players who played against B&W Colts were, Duncan Edwards, Scanlon, Foulkes, Violett, Bobby Charlton, Pegg.  I always thought that there should have been some permanent recognition of the fact that the Busby Babes played at PVR.

I digress, to answer a further part of your question, Welling United is a different club and did not form from Bexley United.

Dear ELB,
After todays game I've added another face to a name
Thank you for your Depth of knowlegde on the local
football front and PVR. Most of it very enlightening
and appreciated.
As for the Man utd bit I think that that is something we would
never get the chance to see again unless it was an FA Cup tie.

To think they have trod on our Sacred turf.

Thank you

If it wasn't for the fact that I cannot read and write, I would love to.

One thing I wouldn't mind looking through would be the old fanzines.

Wow, that is pretty interesting - never knew that! No mention of a Ken Collins in my Southern League Cup match programme on Monday 27th August 1962. Bexleyheath & Welling v Tonbridge k/o 6.15 at PVR, where the blues got the better of us 4-3.

The inside cover states 'Some Journey' - 'It might be of interest to our supporters to know that for the trip to Merthyr, the team left Paddington at mid-day on Monday and arrived home at 6.0 a.m. the following morning. Sleepers were reserved on the train for the return journey'.
