Any news on today's game against the "mightie d'ouvre"? Team selection, possible commentary, hopes and wishes. I'm hoping for a resounding Woking-like 4-0
three losses on the trot ....what's happened guys. where have the come-back kids gone? i'm very sad just now....
lost their way should have bought a striker when andy pugh went .
Hell people, this is the first time in 20 years that we have started a season horrendously and not been looking over our shoulder in the last month\day of the season. Maybe we should have lost our way many times before......
There is a reason people the calibre of Pugh are registered with Gillingham as well as talent and the bottom line is we don't have enough of the green stuff!
Maybe a bit of an anti-climax but get over it. 5-0 demolitions of Woking and some of the football we saw in that run don't come around every year.
Four or five months ago we would have been grateful to have been where we are today - well out of the relegation zone. It just shows how far we have improved since the arrival of Jamie that we are disappointed not to be involved in the play-offs.
Today we lost to a good side with a big fan base and resultant spending power. Today also demonstrated that we are far too lightweight in some crucial areas. Dover do not have the biggest players in this league - indeed they have been bullied by even bigger sides. But we were out-muscled and, at times, outplayed today. I don't think I have ever seen a Welling side with so many young players and so many players of short stature. But that did not stop us having a long winning run with some remarkable results. So why have we lost our way?
I think the sole reason we are not, without a miracle, involved in the play-offs is because our form dipped following the departure of Andy Pugh. Surely, with a bit of foresight, we could have signed him on loan for the rest of the season after he did so well in his first month? Time for Daisy to sort out his targets for next season and for the club to try to secure a sponsorship deal.

Gillingham only sent him out on loan for 1 month as they had no reserve games. We did well to extend the loan.
Now is where we see if we are going places and to see if Jamie can attract quality players and not mates or mercinaries or jobs for the boys.
Great season from how it started and only 1 bad performance in the run in , away at lewes.
Ran out of steam and ideas towards the end. Much to be thankful for and much to look forward to.
Desperately needed a striker as our shape changed aswell as missing a goalcorer to help Whitnell. As Dover were signing half the football League on loan, would have been an option for us striker wise.
We will see what his Contacts are like in pre season.

Personally I think it is all due to the magnificant run in the Kent Senior Cup. If we had gone out in earlier rounds the players wouldn't now be distracted and worry about getting injuries.
Braintree, Chelmsford and Dover have all been spending money recruiting in recent weeks. Welling do not have those resources so competing is not easy and resting players carrying knocks is not an option.
The period between the end of this season and the start of next could be very interesting!!!
