If you look at what Ken Brooke has aciheved under the youth system and at county level he has done a fantastic job. Maybe he should be some one we shoud have nurtured a little closer
Unfortunately we chose the lets play anyone who wants to play... its the taking part ethos of kingspoor. As you can see from Kingspoors results/leagues they are poor and havent developed ONE player.
Ken slipping away from us was a huge feck up, we need to let the academy be our youth system, keep maybe an under 15s and 16s and bin the rest.
I am not too sure the academy as it stands can be the answer but an academy is what we need. The results this season have been piss poor. I am disaapointed in the academy this season.
lets hope Daisy can sort it, its one of the things he can bring to the academy as hes a good coach and experienced with colts.
Well done Ken, its a shame we chose to buy into the idea that a couple of blokes who coach all over the place and Manage Fisher should over see our youth system.
It aint working, i said it never would. Bin them and sort the academy.
We need the youth system to develop players in this day and age. Kingspoor cant do that and havent done that. That isnt even their aim, I was told from the horses mouth its important to let all who want to play have a game in their set up.
The man that would have sorted our Youth System has just won with Kent. We need to find someone who can develop players end of story and forget this let johnny play for the under 15s even though hes got two left feet and likes a cream cake or two.

jgfc you have not got a clue about youth football as you would not come out with so much rubbish about welling youth. the reason you have not seen any players come through was due to old management team and there arrogance. the U/16s of last year who were over looked and left the club after achieving 4 lots of silver wear have got 2 lads that have signed 2 year contracts with millwall 1 of the lads sitting on the 1st team bench as sub a couple of times 6 at dartford academy and 1 with welling academy all these lads were let go by other clubs as not good enough welling youth are producing players but you never see them as they move on as there was no route and still no route to 1st team why do you think the only youngsters to get in 1st team were corinthians players training ground pitch for free
jgfc little bit hard to rip a part as it was my team so from the horses mouth as they say jgfc its fine to have your say but please get your information right
the welling youth do a great job I know this as I have been involved with youth football for over 17 years and worked at diffrent levels inside other clubs and welling is run as well as any. they also have some very highly trained youngsters just finishing level 3 others at level 2 & 1 as in all footbal money makes it run so to have your own ground and support that you have to have numbers also were do you think the stars of tomorrow come from, little tommy that can not kick a ball by a volunteer that gives up his free time to coach and manage and help run a club
please take it from me that everyone involved with welling youth would love and be proud to see lads from the youth run out for the first team I also know this would take a huge leap of faith for any manager to do at this level its only just happening at kpl because of money restraints a league were youth should be developed not egos massaged I know this to as managed this level to
I would like to apologise to bruno and say sorry mate not to mention the support you gave me and my team at the time travelling to watch us and support the lads and always to have a supportive word to say was very much appreciated and nice to see you again yesterday you not a benjamin button are you looked 5years younger. ken brooke acheivments are great and making history for kent youth football is a lovely memeroy and good to see being a good friend of mine welling youth would take ken back with open arms but do not think he is finished with the success of county football yet
Its a shame that what was intended as a post to recognise the achievement of Kent's young players who yesterday proved to be the top County side in the country, with the added interest that the side is managed by a former Welling United youth manager, has gone off the rails.
I am not prepared to partticipate in a discussion about our youth situation in this thread though I am more than happy to do so in an appropriate thread.
I would appreciate it if any future posts in this thread are confined to the topic.
