Cant see a lot happening now for a month (players signing rather than agreeing in principle), Well done to those players for agreeing early and not farting about and committing. but well done to Jamie and the club for releasing details. We have players off on holiday now so probably will get a lull in proceedings for 2 weeks to a month.
Next news will probably be any Friendlies Jamie sorts out.
Thats some good news so well done all.

Indeed, Hes had a years wages off us, and came with a big reputation so i wonder whats happened there. Wasnt he meant to be back towards end of season?

Mark how can he not want him when he hasnt seen him play?
I understand the principle of what you say, but if you consider we need a big ugly striker who is decent, then unless Kedwell is coming back you would assume that it may be worth looking at Lawson when hes on our books?
Unless he basically sodded off during the season that is.

You could turn that round and say why would he sign someone he has never seen play.
I guess it all depends on who else he has lined up to sign. If he has a couple of strikers who he knows in mind would he also want one he has not seen?
The other person who was not mentioned so may have been released is La Sagna.
'The other person who was not mentioned so may have been released is La Sagna.'
About as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike - he couldn't pass the time of day, let alone the ball
Hi Cynical. From what i can remember when we watched him play in the cup you couldn't take your eyes off him I think it was 12 touches and 10 times he gave the ball away.
Maybe he's Just had a bad first season or nervous playing infront of a bumper crowd of about 100.
then again the anagram of his name = MANAGE SNAIL or as think you said ANAL A MINGES
Do we know why Loui and Tom have not responded? I think Loui is lucky to get an offer to be honest - I hope he isn't going to mess us around like last time - looking for who will pay him the most. Jamie has shown him loyality and he should show the same or make it clear he is off.
OK chelwing, you don't rate loui as a player ... your opinion only. but if you check back over the second half of the season and the upturn under daysy's management you will find that loui contributed quite a lot to the turnaround. but why throw in the "more money" idea? loui was approached by histon, but chose to remain at welling and signed. don't forget that this level of football is semi-professional, not amateur ... players have a living to make just as you do and i think you don't have any idea as to the players' circumstances so don't cast aspersions on them unfairly. i hope he does stay with welling, but that is his choice surely
On the other hand he is taking a chance that Jamie Day does not bring in other players in the meantime, use up his budget, and withdraw the offer.
I hope he (and Tommy Whitnell) commits to Welling. Surely, for a secondary job, if you were happy at a club you would want a significant pay increase to cause you to go somewhere which may be less enjoyable. However if it is a primary source of income you have to consider what is available.
Tommy is probably a localish boy but where does Loui have to travel from for home games and training? That may be a factor.
I was thinking about his flirtation with Bromley last year. I appreciate that he may be looking after number one but other players have signed up to Jamie's plans. Personally, I am not convinced about Loui (especially as he is reported to be one of the higher earners) although I know others are far more positive about him. I am more concerned about Welling than Loui. Jamie needs to know where he stands in terms of what he needs to bring in, if players are messing him around then I say let them go.
I am not suggesting that Loui and Tommy for that matter, are messing us around at this time, but that this situtaiton can not be allowed to continue for too long.
Jamie may have offered Loui less money. But times are hard and i would imagine a few of those that have accepted deals are on less money.
Some clubs are slashing their budgets by 30%, needs must.
I would like Loui to sign, he did seem to play ok second half of the season. Whitnell should sign but if he goes we will get a fee for him i believe so if a conference team came in or Dartford etc we can screw them for a few quid.
If neither sign within 2 weeks then replace them, we cant hang around. Both are decent players but neither is the first name on the sheet yet, Whitnell could be at some stage.

Loui did play better second half of the season, but that makes him expensive in terms of net return. He did flirt with other clubs at the start of last season, presumeably for an extra tenner. If thats the case set a deadline and if he hasn't signed we need to look elsewhere.
Tommy faded a little once Andy Pugh had gone, he may flourish again if James Lawson comes good. Still feel that we need to be reasonable in terms of timescales though.
Last season Tommy was playing for just £ plus goal bonuses a week, which I think we will all agree was a snip considering how many goals he scored. That £ did not even cover his petrol! This season Tom has been offered a new deal and back in March it was that of £ a week which has now been reduced to £ a week. Therefore with the permission of Tommy and his family I thought it only fair to explain that Tommy is not holding the club to a kings ransom, he loves playing for the club and would like to do so again. However the reduced offer of nearly £ a week in just under a month has left him scratching his head. As it stands at the moment Tommy is considering his options as you would expect.
So as you can see Tommy is not looking to "mess the club about" we all go to work to earn a living and I am sure that if your employer offered you a new salary of x amount and then weeks later that offer was lowered you would not accept it.
This post is not looking to stir trouble, it is to give fans the full picture of Tommy's situation.

Nice to know Tommys side of the story, got to say I am a little bit worried with no disrespect to Tommy if we cannot offer these sort players a good wage how can we get better players to try and move up a level next season
Thanks for your note and your views. If the numbers you quote are correct, and I have no reason to doubt your sources, I dont think the club will be too pleased to have players wages and deals touted on the forum.
However I can see your point and this has a lot of validity. A player of Tommy's age must make the right choices and the club the right offer. The club must make a viable offer to a player who they feel is worth keeping. If the offer is not acceptable they know that they run the risk of losing him. Whether they can replace him for the money they are offering a week is another matter.

BKK, agree with you about club not being pleased to have players wages and deals touted on the forum, but quite a few posters seem happy to brand players disloyal, money grabbers etc based on guesswork (often totally innacurate) - doesn't encourage them to want to sign on. daysy knows what he is doing, so let's leave it to him to do the best he thinks he can and support him and his chosen players for next season. methinks there are often too many "managers" at a lot of clubs at this level ...
Old Coach, there will always be speculation to any pre season around who is staying and who is going. Daysy will make the choices he feels within the budget he can as you say. The time to judge will be next season when he has his own choice of team
completely agree with that .... and from the way he seemed to have motivated the team (baring a few end of season hiccups) we can all look forward to a good year IMO
Am I right in thinking that if a player under contract is offered a contract worth less than he was paid in the previous season he can, despite being aged under 24, move to another club without a fee or compensation to his former club?
If this is the case with Tommy I think this is a crazy situation. He is a very promising player and a great strike partner with Andy Pugh (I hope we can get Andy and keep Tommy).

That is my understanding (although it does not mean it is right).
