I can't imagine Bexley Council putting any money into Cray's new ground as it's due to be in Sandy Lane which comes within Bromley Council's area.
Personally I think any move for the Wings away from the Welling/Bexleyheath area would be a disaster for the club as I feel that probably half of the already dwindling support would disappear. The only beneficiaries of such a move would very likely be VCD.
About time the council invested in its senior non league team
Cray getting a new ground, Dartford have a new ground, i am sure plenty of other councils have provide new stadia.
Can someone remind me what the F, Bexley council have ever done for us. There is plenty of land nearby where they could build a stadium complex and let us have it at £1 a week for 2 seasons then give it to us to run the council leisure facilities at the stadium.
We can also push the fact that training pitches etc and the whole stadium will be a permenant base for the academy too. Throw in a few banquetting suites/function rooms and the council get some bang back for their buck.
New ground will bring in sponsors and commercial business too.
Have we lobbied the council for help with this? or do we expect it on a plate?

Bexley council are building a new stadium down at Thamesmead, you could always move down there, don't forget the lucky heather.
many moons ago was there some noise about sainsbury having the ground and the cricket next door and moving us and them down to dartfordians that became a nonstarter because of the residents and lack of suitable access

If I were a resident of the London Borough of Bexley I would be asking my candidates in the local election why the council give money to Charlton and not Welling. But I am not so I can't.
If the ground were to be moved I would have thought a site nearer to Shooters' Hill would still be Welling rather than Crayford. Thamesmead etc. Anyway for me PVR is ideal especially as I will be able to do my shopping after the games once Tesco open
Didn't we sign a new 50 year lease the other year? Can't see why they would want to move untill that's up by which time I'll be long gone.
I think pricing is the main problem. I watched some of the Blackburn V Arsenal game yesterday and they mentioned that you can get a season ticket behind the goal at Blackburn for £199 a year. I doubt it the local non league teams can compete with that.
Get accompanied kids in for a quid and have a concession for those in full time education like most other clubs have. A £60 season ticket for them would encourage them to come.
I have siad before that I dont think that councils should spend taxpayers money on football clubs when they dont spend enough on essential services already. I live in dartford borough and object to the fact that some of my money went to providing a stadium for Dartford FC. If I still lived in Bexley borough I would object to the money going to the building a a new football stadium.
JgFc, a good point, but I've heard that Bexley are cutting 20% of their budget anyway. Plus, at the best of times, they are a nightmare to get money out of.
The councillor for North Heath ward is quite open, next time I see him, I'll ask what the monetary situation be.
