Coutesy of Kent on Line. Great news re the guys who have signed and fair play to Daisy re giving Loui til Sunday to make a decision.
If he is that good that a Conf Premier League want him then we need to think about replacing him. So its not about furthering his prospects its about money and fair play to him. My guess is that we have offered him less than he is on at the moment due to budget.Seem to remember he sodded about last year with Bromley, cheers Louis thanks for the games but no loss me thinks
All good news. I agree about Loui and am pleased a deadline has been set. Reduced wages or leave seems fair to me. Good luck to him if he can get more money elsewhere.
Frustrating player - always left with the feeling that he is not making the most of his potential.
A pity if decides not to sign but as has already been said he did this last year. He almost signed for Bromley then came back to us.
I wonder who will sign him seeing as most clubs will be cutting their cloth this season. The only side I can see having him is Dover as it looks like they will still be splashing Parmenter's cash.
Bye bye Loui! I don't mind Loui, i think he's a very good player but he sods about too much on the pitch, and as has already been mentioned this isn't the first time he's dithered over a new contract.

Dover is still Blue Square South .... he is considering option of Welling or Blue Square Premier. Not unreasonable IMO - money is not the main consideration
Well done to Daisy for putting his foot down. Loui is free to go elsewhere as its a reduced offer? So i dont blame him if he goes. I also know that Jamie has done this the right way, given him a few weeks then said, right, accept or the offer is withdrawn and you are not needed. If he did go i am not sure it would be a massive loss, despite Loui getting better second half of the season. We probably need more bang for our buck.
Also well done to the players that have signed. We know these are the ones we definitely wanted to stay and form the backbone for next year. Jamie will have some good contacts and pull a couple of rabbits out the hat.
Will be good when Clarkey, Sam and Charlie have actually signed.

Opinion is divided on Loui and on balance I fall into the pro camp but I think Jamie has made a good call.
By Sunday Loui will have had the offer for next season for over 2 weeks (and probably knew that he was going to be offered terms some time before that). Jamie has merely said you have a place in my squad till Sunday and if you sign by then all well and good but if you haven't signed by then in the interests of Welling United I will have to set about looking for a replacement.
If Loui wants longer to weigh up his options then that is his prerogative but he has to bear in mind that Jamie could have a player in mind and he runs the risk of being replaced if he delays making a decision beyond Sunday.

What i will add is, that we probably havent had full value from loui, and as such he could be fortunate to have received an offer. I dont mean that in a bad way but he has hardly scored or won games by his runs or crosses.
He would have to improve this season to warrant his wages. He was nowhere near as bad as Finn but at our level the players have to be on their game more often than not on it.
If he does go then good luck and if he stays, lets hope he pulls his sleeves up like Clarkey did.

Have all the players who have had offers been given until Sunday to sign (eg Tommy Whitnell)? If not, then I think it is unfair to apply that deadline just to Lou. I now wonder whether it is AFC Wimbledon who are interested in him.
I see Andy Pugh has been released by Gillingham and I reckon Dover are sniffing around now that they have let Franny Collin go.

Pugh would be a great signing, if he is true to his word then great, if he signed for someone else in our league or lower then we know it was just all talk.

Assume Pugh along with otherspro's contrcts do not finish until 1st June
Now the Gills manager gone / Gills relegated could still be offered new terms by Gills incoming manager / the club
As I have said before - has potential but hasn't delivered enough in my view. Still if he is going to sign for next year then I will get behind him and hope he has a good season.
One thing to note on Loui ... and Hurrell too ... lots of appearances last season, very very few goals. Loui got two in 30plus games, need more. Hurrell got one !!
they are both wide midfielders/wingers .... check out the number of assists, and the amount of checking back to support their fullbacks ....
That is why Loui and Sam stayed whilst Finn was given the Spanish Archer. I do think that their 'assist' numbers could have been higher although they both set up opportunities that were missed!
I dont think many if any are dissapointed Loui is staying so the ball is in his court to hit the ground running and produce results from his undoubted talent.
Fair play to the little guy for signing promptly when asked to decide, it shows his loyalty and committment at this stage and its down to him to produce the goods from the get go and i back him to do that.
