Andy Pugh , is a credit to the game, Had better offers but has bought into Welling and SHOULD he get a move back to the league everyone at Welling will be delighted for him and not stand in his way.

Luis has something about him.

This is a great double signing and Jamie and the club are to be congratulated.

Russ i havent seen anything about Charlie Mitten in that piece, has he signed?

Everyone should have a spring in their step as added to the ones already signed these signings give us some real clout and could and should attract more players.

I am bouncing at this news, what a shot in the arm.

Players like Pugh and Cumbers who are obviously slightly dissapointed to be released, buying into our club is fantastic. Lets hope we hit the ground running this year. Pughie you have just made my summer.

With players like...

Mitten, Clarke, Parky, Andrews, Pugh and Cumbers (most if not all could walk into Dover or Woking) CHOOSING Welling this is changing the ethos at the club and creating a bit of identity and bonding.

Something Dave Fitchett used to go on about. Its sensational, if we gel again this year it could be us against the world type stuff and very exciting.

I want to say thank you to Pugh for joining us for next season. Yes he could easily have joined a league side, and I'm glad he's chosen to join us. If he wants to play in the professional game again after next season then fair enough. Also glad that Cumbers has signed with us as well, as he sounds a decent player to. I'm wondering if Jamie has anyone else lined up. I assume that Pugh and Cumbers will be able to play in the pre season friendlies against VCD and Ashford.

This is great news. I can't remember when we retained so many strong players.

It looks as though Jamie is getting a good team spirit together, hopefully like the one that started 25 years ago in that incredible 1985/6 season.

Some more in detail stats on Cumbers. For a loan player his goal scoring record is phenomenal. He'll do well to have a run of games for one club.

What will be nice in pre-season is having the core of the team established. The last few years have seen a massive number of people trialing and no hint of a starting 11. This is looking really positive.

Agreed, core of the team is in place with a few new ones to be added. Even the new players thus far like Pugh and Cumber know each other from previous club and have played together before.

We've got off to a bad start in recent years because the side has always been a totally changed XI to that of the year previous and by the time they have gelled we are already 6-8 games in, and then on a poor run and playing catch-up. Hopefully we can therefore "hit the ground running" this season and be right on top of our game from day one.

(Will never forget Mark Watson turning up once for the annual Welling v Charlton game in his convertible at PVR for about 2.50pm and somehow then sprinting onto the pitch for 2.59pm to introduce himself to Mark Cooper).

We have got a good backbone to the team with so many players retained and these signings. Pugh was true to his word and put us ahead of other teams in the league. Great signings Daysie

Really good news about Andy signing for us, he was true to his word.
Also, Luis Cumbers sounds like a good signing too - let's hope other quality players follow suit and come to PVR.

Good news andy pugh coming back he probably told cumbers about welling,also MR DAY must have gave a good account of where he wants to take welling utd.
Now we have pugh cumbers whitnell healy ? hobbs? lawson? marsh ? could MR DAY be planning to play himself with clarke in midfield it worked before.
Personally i dont think healy lawson will come back.

Does anybody know whether both Pugh and Cumbers have a deal or are non-contract players?

Also, have we got someone coming in to replace Jenkinson/Sambrook at right back?

I assume that Cumbers could take Hurrell's place down the left wing?
