This is why Danny Lawrence played against us and not for us on Saturday:

The manager saying that his holiday "killed him" is a bit excessive. He appeared to be alive when setting up their goal.

I think he meant it killed his chance of trialling for us. He certainly looked good on the ball but a bit lightweight and not the fastest thing on two legs.

Dadson looks more of a rough diamond with a lot of pace. Reminded me of a lythe new Tony Agana. Would love to see him on the right tonight as he seemed to want to come on to his right peg when out left.

From what i saw i think Dadson looks more dangerous and you would get more bang for your buck through the whole game.

Shame for Lawrence but Halsey is correct you need to get your holidays out of the way if you want to move clubs. Cracknell and Clarke are a different matter as they are already here and at least their holidays are very early in pre season.

Lawrence was playing against better opposition though!!

I was very impressed with most of the trialists and there are more still to appear.

It will be a real challenge ensuring the best ones are taken on.
