Congratulations to young Barry and Colin our former groundsman, and now our "consultant" (he is now at Leyton Orient) for producing such a wonderful pitch for last night's game.
It is a real credit to them to produce a surface as smooth as the top of a billiard table - especially as we have had weeks of arid conditions. Patsy Holland from Arsenal, who was there watching the match against Charlton, must have been impressed by the quality of the pitch.

Lots of dry sand? kicking up. But did look very good, if we get the rain they are forecasting it should improve even more. Only problem is the parasites are playing on it Saturday, so it might well chew up a bit.

Pitch looked amazing, a credit to Barry and Colin, nice to see Jamesie is still involved with the pitch.
Herne Bay's pitch looked like an untended cabbage patch with lumps bumps and dips in it, ours could have seen Tiger Woods putting on it or Ronnie OSullivan playing snooker.
If that pitch doesnt win awards again then there is no justice.
We played a bit of hoofit at Herne Bay, but we played more passing on our own superb pitch, so well done to all involved.
