......For the first time in years we are starting with a 'proper' squad'....not one that continues to evolve over the first three months of the season by which time we are third from bottom
If only we had a settled squad last year we would have made the play offs....just a few points from the disasterous start would have ensured that
A difficult start what with Dover, Havant and Chelmsford BUT it may also be the best time to play those games
Hampton is a must win if we are to contend
I think we have lots of goals in the team this year and I think they will be at times very good to watch
I will be interested how we do against the more physical sides.(PLEASE keep it on the ground and play)
This is the most I've ever looked forward to the start of a new season. We have a very good manager and coaching team. The directors gave Jamie money to get a decent sized squad with really good players. As has already been said, there are lots of goals to come from us. I fully expect us to get promoted, and there aren't any teams for us to fear. The only team i was worried about last season was Newport and we beat them away if i remember correctly!

Too much off season grain or grape chief! 2-2.
No expectations, no preconceptions on this season, that is partly why I have summer with Rosenborg, watching a team that is expected to win domestically EVERY time, gets it out of the system.
I am hoping on what has occurred thus far we shall have a good season, be looking up rather than down (that does not mean we are bottom!) during the season and have the opportunity to raise some cash in the cups.
I am sure there will be usual quota of alcohol fuelled amusement in establishments far and wide (and passing Dave and Danson in the street as we go round a towns pub circuit in opposite directions!) and if perchance there is another day to rank with Woking away last season I hope we shall celebrate it in similar style....

I suppose we should be looking to beat Hampton as Devonshire reckons their budget is tiny. However I would not take anything for granted. They normally give us a tough match.
One word of caution is that I don't think our defence is great. We are banking on banging in the goals and not too much on getting dour 1-0s.
