I do not ordinarily agree that a worker should forego his wage to help his employers, but in this case I make an exception. Every Wings player has his own personal circumstances and demands, housing, food, family, etc so we should take note of that. But I recognise your fantastic gesture, Joe. And you are playing extremely well too.
Now, I hope, at a later stage, Joe's wages can be restored not only to the level he signed for, not only with the addition of the backpay he has sacrificed but also with a fat bonus on top of it. These are the sort of players (as indeed I am sure they are in our entire squad) with the commitment we should honour and treasure. Now go and get Dover tonight Joe and the boys.

You have to put Healy in the same category as people like Ransom, who played as no burden to the clubs finances.
People who play for the shirt and the fans like that can have nothing but the greatest respect from the fans and the owners. Healy is in effect paying to play for us. He will have expenses like petrol or travel.
I hope he never buys a drink in the bars this season or any season.

I've noticed that too Mark, In the non-league papers one-to-one interview bit at the back a lot of players at our level often list their job as a footballer.
So I can 100% understand people not giving up their wage to help us - they can do it in other ways such as making sure we go a long way in the cups etc
All of them are playing their nuts off , the money they earn at Welling could be all of their income. Its important no cracks appear on or off the pitch, everyone keep together.

We've got a squad that can do well and that goes for the cups.
Exeter managed to wipe out their whole debt via a good cup run and taking United back to their ground in the third round...now wouldn't that be great!!

would be fantastic and i still feel we are due a big cup run so maybe this year will be perfectly timed
(although we dont want to pin all our hopes on one as that will put even more pressure on clubs to perform)
