I am sure many would order when they are sat at home....I am led to believe that is is really easy to set up an account...then we need piccies on the Club Shop bit of the site and Bos yer Uncle OR am I missing something??
Not living in the area anymore and not being able to get to as many games because of work, I would definately shop from the clubshop online if there was a PayPal facility.

Might I suggest the critical ingredient Mark, someone to actually do it. We can all sit and say this could be done and that could be done but it seems to me its always that somebody else can but I've too many commitments. Well believe it or not those who do what is done have commitments too.
It is something which is bound to come along in time but with there is a limit to what people already doing things on a voluntary basis can do and in some cases that limit is currently being exceeded to their detriment.
I've lost count of the number of times people have put forward ideas and said somebody should/WSU should but who is that?
RANT OVER

I will do something rather than suggesting do something ... Is there an online PayPal account, or similar, in order people can donate online ?? Not buying anything ... just for people to log-on from home and deposit money. If there is not then I can setup, but I need to know where to direct the finance ...
People are still handing cash and cheques in, and with cheques taking time to clear, and cash changing hands only being possible on matchdays, I think an online system would be benefitical.
Kev this is something we need a paypal account. Speak to Russ.
Bruno with respect....
The online shop, if you want pics of the goods to give to James i will do that Thursday if anyone is about or Dave Budden isnt available, then the actual admin is ALMOST non existant, paypal email the admin say bert smith bought a shirt XL and here is his address, all we have to do is twice a week send out the orders. You dont really have to monitor the shop as you get purchase notifications.

Have PM'd you Kevin. There are in fact 2 issues here one being the online club about which I Have PM'd you and the other is Sponsor a Player. I only have information about the Club Shop and as JgFc has said Russ would be a contact for the Sponsor a Player stuff.

Thanks for the offer JgFc. Not sure that this Thursday is the best time as all the items of stock which will be sold have been delivered yet.
Again with respect running an online shop once it is set up is not a major task- we ain't Amazon. What it would entail would be checking for orders, going to the ground during the normal working day, getting the stock, packaging the stock, taking it to the post office for mailing and depending on where you lived and transport available to you this would probably take at least a couple of hours. Doing this twice a week and that is a regular commitment of at least half a day for 52 weeks of the year.
The first step in the process is WSU agreeing that it will run an online shop, then there has to be the coordination of resources to get it set up (website manager, photos, webpage, online account, paypal etc.) Once set up we have to find someone/some people who on a voluntary basis is/are prepared to commit to actually running online sales and all that that will entail.
Not quite as simple as you would make it seem I suggest.

I am not even suggesting posting out stuff although I would happily do this free of charge...i.e pick up at the next Home game and send
What I am saying is this.........
.......I NEVER come to a game with £100's.....BUT I have walked into the shop and Bruno knows this and said...I need a couple of those fleeces......Now me and Mrs X dont use a cheque book anymore (we found a couple to pay for the player sponsorship) so it comes down to remembering to get cash.....something I have to admit I forget on a Saturday as I do live quite a way away (ask Ken...I nearly always forget my SAG money)
So.....IF I could pay by PayPal then I would pick up MY goods on the next Saturday OR Midweek game
Just to point out....I am away in Bristol right now.....I will be on my computer most of today and half of the night if I know my company so I would go to the site and order those two fleeces pluys probably a shirt too
In these times of finacial problems it just appears to me that anything we can do to make life easier and more financially rewarding then we should do it
I dont think anyone is asking for us to be Amazon ...just to get into the year 2010
I would agree that in an ideal world it would be great to have an online shop but as I have pointed out it is not quite as simple as people may have thought/suggested.
Yes Mark did come in the shop and would have bought goods had he had the cash. If I remember I will email him Monday /Tuesday to remind him.

M
i agree
i usually come to the games with £20 max for a beer or two and just forget (or spend too much friday night so dont have much on me) and live nowhere near a cashpoint so cant draw any money out without a massive detour on way to ground
im usually more than happy to part with my cash but just dont have a means
or failing that get a credit card machine so i can use my card at match days (although that probably is unworkable)
Bruno there is no checking of orders, paypal email you when a purchase is made with all the details, also i did say send out Orders twice a week. Once a week is fine collate the orders on a match day.
Once its set up it really is quite simple and doesnt have to mean going to the club every day to send out goods. Just say any orders made will be delivered within 2-3 days of the next match at home.
The pictures of goods and embedded them with a pay button are simple to sort out.
For the time involved and the possible money brought in its a go-er.
You can also sell WSU or Club event tickets and Season Tickets this way too. Allowing more people to easily spend their money online.

I believe PayPal take a 3% cut? So anyone who has internet banking and wants to donate or sponsor kit, it's better for us that you do it that way. As posted elsewhere, get in touch through here or on russ(at)winningisnteverything.net and I'll pass on the details.
Russ theres an option when you pay at paypal to choose personal payment or gift, Bruno will confirm, the recipient receives the full amount when you do this, no cut is taken by paypal. Internet banking is easier, some people would use the paypal option though.
