That is direct from Barrie Hobbins on the telephone.

Now we need to get together, sort meetings and an active campaign to bring in money to raise the debt and to keep the squad together.

At least the players have said they will take wage cuts and that might be a short term help.

Great News in the court today, now we have a chance and its in our hands!

Barrie said there are talks with people about investment and sponsorship ongoing too.

A statement has been given to Matt Panting, the press and Official Site. Barrie will ask the league if the Embargo can be lifted tomorrow.

Great news !!

What has been paid so far then, just the 30k the club declared when first making announcement of the winding up petition ??

If so, then Im assuming there is all the sponsorship money raised recently to come off of that 63k, plus the other money the club said they were putting forward at circa 15k, or have I got this wrong ??

Great news, the job starts now, lets make some positive changes and get people through the gates to home games .... and continuing the fantastic start to the season.

Kevin i think the 15k included most of the sponsorship money as it looked like we had 5k pledged for that.

But that was not needed to be paid but what was needed were the clubs contributions to the players and the current tax bill.

I think a benefit game can be arranged in that 14 weeks and bring in a chunk. Something to discuss at the meetings. I am sure Russ and Matt will call a meeting.

Charlton have got 10,000 season tickets and are away for the boreham wood game. It would be nice if we could get 200-300 of them to Welling for that day.

Get on Charlton life and invite them down, i am sure if a few of them organised something it would snowball.

We need this online wall NOW ... so that everyone can donate, can refer people to some tangible to donate, and we can all see the progress being made and not have to keep asking "how much have we raised and whats left" every two days.

Do we know when James is back ??

This will not be a popular suggestion, but I think (for this year only) season ticket money should be converted into shares in the club.  Consequently, current ticket holders for this year would pay the current entry rate with a 25 per cent reduction at the turnstiles for whatever the ground entry/facilities specified by the season ticket and/or other benefits.  Details would obviously have to be worked out.  For those of us who have 2-year tickets, the next season should be honoured in full either in entry to the various specified parts of the ground or a partial or full option to convert into shares.

Would confuse the issue, I would much rather long term season tickets be for sale to raise capital than turn previously bought SEASON TICKETS into something they are not IE Shares. If those current season ticket holders want to buy long term season tickets so be it. Much easier to launch a supporters trust and or share issue from scratch. IMHO.

I agree and then encourage people to make regular donations, even if its only a small amount it will soon add up.

It is an idea but we need to be mindful that certain options will have further tax liabilities. I am all for those options that do not require further tax as all money goes to clear the debt and I don't feel I am generating more revenue for those making our life difficult.

Apparently on the Ashford Town (Kent) forum theyre asking if its possible to make donations towards Wellings £63k fund on the night of the Stuart White Memorial Cup. Quite a gesture considering theyve lost senior football at Homelands this season.

An amazing gesture, and yes of course we would love to take their donations ... as long as it doesnt restrict the money going to the Stuart White side ...

Good stuff indeed.

I know this may sound silly, but I'm guessing businesses in and aroudn the area have been asked to sponsor? We have got some big companies round here (Erith Group springs to mind...).
