Croydon are one of those teams paying way over the odds for players in their league and this has happened in the past at..

Fisher
Grays
Lewes
Hornchurch etc etc

You would have to feel sorry for the fans there, They were a small club ryman 1 at best and the money has made them better than those in their league.

You have to be really carefull with a sugar daddy, is their money legit and what happens if they sod off and leave you with unsustainable budgets miles above anyone in the league?

Shampoo's comments about the players are there becuase he and Neil "I Wont lay down" Smith are great coaches is utter bunkem.

I was shocked to see a picture of Croydon celebrating beating Carshalton on the front page of the Guardian Sports Section this week. Dodgy geezer.

The long standing ones, yes. The bandwagon jumpers maybe not!!

I met some decent supporters of theirs when they beat our reserves in the LSC last season.

It is not expected that any of their regular players will be on duty on Tuesday and if their game goes ahead it will be with youth team boys. It's just as well they can register more than 16!

Cancelled their next 3 games as well...

Croydon Arena is a dump as well. Although know we all know why no money gets spent on the place...The chairmen either try to knobble cricket matches or launder it!!!

Sorry to be a smart arse, but Croydon Athletic don't play at the Croydon Arena - that's Croydon FC.

Reason I say is you best be careful Slim, in the non-league paper their chairman (Croydon FC's) was threatening to sue a host of national papers for slander by wrongly saying it was Croydon and not Croydon Athletic involved in the betting sham!!!!

But, I agree, Croydon Arena is still a dump - with an athletics to make it worse.

Ahhh, thank you WellingJim. Your comment was good right up until you slurred athletics...MY sport!!! Funnily enough, Croydon Harriers aren't a bad club, Martyn Rooney is a member...Never runs for them, but is a member nonetheless. Another of my number's claim to fame is he beat Rooney in a race when he was younger.

Recently, I was going to go training there and found 14 blokes outside with those black off licence carrier bags full of cans at 9.30am...I turned round and went to Norman Park.
