With the FA Cup now gone for another season it does leave us with the above date free and no England, Premiership or Championship games that weekend.
Has anyone any update from the club re potential big game fixture ? I know Barrie was working on this but advised at the last meeting it was proving difficult.
However, if something was announced this week it would allow us all plenty of time to market to the local community as much as possible to ensure a full house. A crowd of 3,000 would wipe out a large percentage of our debt.
The supporters team have a friendly on that morning, may I suggest its switched to PVR considering all the hardwork by the supporters recently, and the £75 we'd have to paid to hire a pitch goes into the fund ... along with other donations from the away side for playing on a proper surface ... open the bar up after for another few hundred quid to come in, etc. Could make another £500 easy by doing not a lot.
Ive been saying since the debt was announced we need a mega friendly or a couple of XIs down at PVR. We simply HAVE to get them sorted and a glamour game vs a strong team must be the main aim.
The 9th is an outstanding chance to get a decent side down.... Anyone tried Adie? A strong Stoke team would be nice and could be possible, Peterborough? and our mate Barry. Newcastle? Other than that... Try Spurs, Arsenal, Charlton, Birmingham, PORTSMOUTH who could feel our pain, Southampton, and a host of others.
