We'll just have to do it the hard way then.

Does that mean the deadline for an appeal has passed?

I would imagine 14 days have now passed.

Why would we appeal???

We did wrong. We broke the rules. We got punished.

Move on and try to get back up towards those play off positions.

You could appeal about the severity of the reduction but it costs money to appeal. As we haven't got the money, we need to get on with playing football and getting the points back.

For me survival is more important than promotion this year.

I agree.  What we need to do is ensure that we don't do anything to cause the  £5K suspended fine to be actioned.

Despite all the problems we had such a good start to the season that we still have 15 points and are just 1 point outside the playoffs after 10 games, a position only bettered twice in the last 24 years.  We are more than capable of making the playoffs provided we can avoid injuries.

Did I say we should appeal? No.  However, other clubs in similar circumstances have appealed successfully to get two or three points knocked off of the deduction penalty.

Did anyone say you said we should appeal?

Although I wonder if the five points was set expecting an appeal to compromise to three points, I think the club is right in 'taking it on the chin' and not wasting more money on what could be a fruitless exercise.

I suspect that Mark is right - and an appeal could have got it down to 3 points. Too much of a gamble with money we don't have.

Think the club have done the right thing here. Took it and not let it drag on and risk further punishment. IMHO its clear Strudwick HATES us.

I can't see anyone saying that you did say we should appeal Bertie.

What was posted subsequent to your first post were views about whether we should or should not have appealed.
