Has anything been arranged regarding the setting up of seat sponsorship. At the last meeting it was suggested that James U might be persuaded to set up a grid of all the seats and that each seat could be sponsored for £10 etc.... ?

I dont agree with this as it is the same people reaching into their pockets again, which although comendable, a larger base of people is needed to raise the money we need to hit target ... and to raise more money weekly on a continuous basis to prevent the annual 48k losses.

It was mentioned at both meetings, the club has lost 48k in the last two financial years. If these investors complete the deal fantastic, but otherwise, even if we raise the money needed, we are still losing almost 1k a week on average.

There need to be major changes, investment or no investment.

Kevin the use of the BAR, continued GIGS and Auction and a social club section started. Better commercial Activity will see our budget increased NOT decreased. However you are correct that we have to stop losing money. We can do that by being active commercially and the the excellent work of some recently while having little difference to the debt will make a huge difference ongoing on a weekly basis.

I agree, the efforts have been amazing, but they must continue whether we get investment or not for the club to prospor.

I think it is important that the efforts being made about fund raising does not negate the need for an active commercial department.

If we come through this crisis, then one positive is that it has brought the supporters together and increased the social side of the club and I hope this continues.

Hopefuly the future will bring a better bar and club house too.

My point was to set this seat sponsorship up as a ongoing thing.  This should be done "Year in. Year out".  As JgFc has said before.  All these commercial things should be the norm. Kit sponsorship, Seat sponsorship, Sponsor a goal...etc should be constantly promoted by the club.  All forms of revenue streams should be investigated by the club.  This would help to reduce the " 48k loss" each year.
I totally agree that these fund raising schemes should be left to a commercial dept and not left for the WSU and other volunteers to organize

WSU have done kit sponsorship and Sponsor a goal for a couple of seasons or more.

I personally think, go for a very social supporters section, use the bar and the ground a lot, get a comedy club going once a month? have diverse acts, not just rock and punk.. have discos, race nights, poker nights, Beer Festivals, Meet the manager and players... what happened to them?, an evening with nights. If the Investors put sky in then Sundays is a must open and then also target getting people in at Midday on the saturday and staying for the 530 game too. Food even if pies to start with, rolls etc etc or a Buffet would also bring people in. Ok we are starting all from scratch as we have been devoid in this area but it is the way to go. Make the Wings bar and PVR a social hub, make it interesting.

Use the Wings bar to drag in people from the local community and get the current fans spending money at the club more often. If the place is buzzing and diverse then people will bring friends and family. Notwithstanding the fact that any new investors need to have an active commercial department, which i have heard they are good in that area and not short of dosh. In the future an extension of the size of the bar will bring in more options and possibilities but you cannot run before you can walk.

The supporters shouldnt have to do it all, but they could make a big difference if they foundations get laid. I do not feel that the supporters should just sling everything to the club that they raise but they could use some on marketing and putting on better events to raise more money and of course have a presence at Danson Festival. They could have a playing fund too for a rainy day or a push if we are challenging in the leagues or cups. They can use funds to become stronger as supporters and improve the club shop and bring in away travel etc too.

We can compete without bringing in millions. The little things in an organised manner will make a big difference and i truly believe it is on the horizon as people have been brought together. They should never feel they should do it though or it is a burden and if the new investors are pro active the fans will do more.

Sorry Kevin didn't hear thatfigure mentioned at any meeting.

As the players wages are paid for 39 weeks only, I feel this figure needs explaining as they are without doubt the biggest expenditure.

Also if we lost £48k per year over 2 years when did we lose the other £69k that we owe.

Barry said we lost 48k 2 years ago, the same last year plus we are on target to lose similar this season. AFAIAA, you can assume we have been losing a grand a week. Which is 100-150 new supporters on the gate for all league and cup games, that can be achieved and Commercially and as fund raising we can kick on. First we need the new dawn and the investors to take over, then we can plan.
