Hi Welling fans, just a quick message from Farnborough FC.
We hope you are all looking forward to your trip to The Rushmoor Stadium this Saturday for our Blue Square South fixture.
This is just a courtesy message from the club with some matchday information for you all travelling for the match;
The turnstiles will be open from noon, with the Boro Burger Kitchen serving food and the Cherrywood Bar open to all.
Ticket prices are £10 for adults, £7 for concessions, and FREE for children under 16.
The Cherrywood is the main bar at Farnborough FC. It has a great pre-match and post-match atmosphere which both sets of fans can enjoy before and after the game. The live Premiership encounter between Aston Villa and Arsenal will be showing on the big screens before the game to entertain the early arrivals.
If you want to watch the game in a little more style and comfort, then you are welcome to purchase Platinum Lounge tickets. These cost £25 and give you entrance to the Platinum Lounge from noon, a two-course meal, the best seats in the main stand, free parking and use of the Platinum Lounge bar before, during and after the game. The dress code is smart casual. If you are interested in reserving your place in the Platinum Lounge, drop us an email by 5pm on Thursday so we can book you in. (aidan.whelan@farnboroughfc.co.uk)
There is ample parking at Cherrywood Road, and the cost to park at the ground is £3, which includes an official matchday programme in the price. Programmes will cost £2.50 inside the Stadium. We also have a free car park at the nearby Farnborough 6th Form College, which is just five minutes walk from the ground, and is much easier on conjestion in and around the ground.
We hope to see as many of you as possible down at The Rushmoor Stadium, and we are looking forward to an entertaining game with your side.

I won't be able to make it to the match, but thank you for posting this info anyway. It's the only time that anyone from another club has posted this amount of relevant match informtion :)

Sherpa with respect, a lot of other clubs have many ,many staff, not all volunteers. Thus are more organised. I agree its a nice touch but its aimed at making Farnborough more money not to make Welling's day any better. Im not knocking it. They know welling take 50-100 away and see that they would all have some money to spend.
If you email a club they often have to pass your emails on to the relevant department, with us we have two people who run the show, which is why sometimes things dont get done as they are chasing their arse all day long doing stuff. Farnborough amongst others have lots of people as staff and thus have the time to market things.
To really praise them they could have put on specials for food or happy hour etc etc specifically to bring in 50 or more fans early from Welling. Now that would have been praiseworthy.

They probably do have lots of people as staff, JG.
All I'm saying is, as far as I can see, it's one e-mail, changed to reflect the impending visit of us, takes seconds to do between matches and, as far as I can recall, this kind of thing hasn't been done on here before!!
If we have a future, I hope it's something we can consider.
I completely agree with you. But we need a structure to be able to do that which all liases with a commercial department and day to day running of a semi professional football club.
You cant expect everything to be done by well intentioned volunteers for many reasons.

Also, we do not have the up-to-date facilities in which to offer such service. The bars are looking extremely tired and depleted of stock - except that dear Teddy in the exec lounge always looks after me with some tasty bottled beers if there is not a real ale available downstairs.

Jgfc... dont put a downer on marks idea... he can write the email offering a visit to a real old fashioned bar that may or may not have real ale on sale, and fish and chips from the chippy up the road..the chance to watch a decent football team.... and if they want to pay an extra £50 they can sit in front of the camera and stand up at important times
Let's also not forget that Farnborough's bar is outside the ground and is open all week as a pub. Having two real ales on is not a problem for them and it's no surprise that it is probably the best club bar in this league.
At present the weather forecast for Saturday is for snow in all parts of the country so it's probably advisable not to book anything in advance in relation to this match.
