Next Wednesday is our Court date I believe. I am getting increasingly anxious that this take over is going to be a last minute job. I would have hoped that as the discussions have been going on for so long that the deal would be signed in plently of time for next week and the Court would be a formality.

I am now worried that we all be desperately waiting for updates next Wednesday to see if our club is saved. I also fear that next week may end in an adjournement, meaning that the embargo will continue.

Just checked on the main web site and see the last offical statement was made on the 15th October and that was saying talks are in progress and asking for patience. That was nearly 6 weeks ago.

Given that many of us have supported events - given over our hard earned cash for the cause - is it too much to be asked to be better informed? And I don't think a quick chat with Barry is enough.

All we can do at this stage is wait and hope that a they complete the deal and b we arent refreshing web pages 10 times a minute on the 1st to see if we have a club or have to start a new one in the Kent League.

"All we can do is wait and see"

Yes, that is correct, because of the poor running of the club again.

There is no reason not to make a statement weekly for example. I dont expect in-depth reports on the legal affairs, but some kind of comment would be a courtesy.

No news equals bad news in this instance in my opinion.

Nah, too much going for us now: visible bidders, a upcoming big trophy game, a high current league position.

Too many positive factors. I predict at least an extension to the deadline.

I believe the club will survive. I just want them to bloody say something/anything. Complete silence on all matters to do with the clubs continuing existance isn't good enough.

I wouldnt bank on the extention to a deadline based on lack of payments to them since the 30k from pre season games.

I WOULD LIKE TO THINK WE HAVE PEOPLE LOOKING AT THE WAY THE TEAM IS PLAYING WHO ARE WAITING IN THE WINGS (GET IN THERE WHAT A PUN), should the current prospective investors drag their heels for much longer.

Hard to think new prospective investors could be found in a week and for the deal to go through - less than a week now - another day with no news.

There are four working days to do a deal ... Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues ... Why leave it to the last minute considering its been 6 weeks ??

If it doesn't happen there is no way a new buyer can be found in that time ... unless someone has 50k cash in a briefcase.

Maybe the investors dont want it announced until a certain date... I'm sure if there was a problem Barry wouldnt have been sounding so positive...
I know you're all worried... but try not to think to bleakly... look at palace there's was left right up to the deadline... and they needed a much bigger investment... (and before anyone says it, I know they are a bigger club....

If you were the investors wouldnt you want the club to achieve as much as possible to give a return on your investment. You'd want to lift the embargo, see new players come in, prevent the non-contract players leaving, make business changes to improve income, etc etc. This cannot be done until you take ownership. I can only compare it to buying a house, wouldnt you want to buy it and move in asap ... no-one ever wants a slow sale do they ??

People with 50k cash minimum to save Welling at four working days notice dont grow on trees.

I said many many weeks ago that the closer it gets to the deadline the more it plays into the buyers hands who can then potentially move the goalposts so to speak at the last minute if need be ... and we'll be up s**t alley with no choice but to agree to it.

God knows why there is no communication and why its taken so long ... but all it needs it one bloke to phone in sick next week at a firm of solicitors and it could all end in tears.

I dread to think what the mood would have been or if we would have even found potential invesors if we were showing relegation form, that is ne thing to be positive about and maybe why we are still in a potential positive position.

Which ever way it goes and assuming the club survives, there are some serious communication lessons to be learned amongst other aspects

"... no-one ever wants a slow sale do they ??"

You do if you're waiting to free up cash from another investment.
Or if you're doing due diligence and don't want to rush into making a bad investment.

This is always going to play into the buyers hands, it's public knowledge that we owe the HMRC lots of cash, as well as lots to other people. I would assume there would be a signed agreement that agrees on the price, and then the investors are given time to do their homework in full - but if they go ahead they pay the price that was agreed. Probably similar to exchange and completition in a house purchase.

Graham could be right they may be waiting for funds to be released, or possibly involved with another club until a certain date (i believe you cannot be linked to more than one club at a time)
I'm sure the club will release some sort of statement by the end of the week..
You just need to put your faith in Barry (I'm sure he wouldnt have stuck with these investors if he had any doubts)

Good post and I agree mate, but it would still be a good idea, even if meaningless, for the club to say on a regular basis, that progress is still being made.
As previously stated, the last update was 15th October. Lots of us have paid good money into the club, one way or another and various others have given up their valuable time/effort to help save our club.
It would and still could, be nice if one of the Hobbins stated on here about the amount of hard work that everyone has put in to save the club.
There are people like Patsy, Sy, Bruno etc ( the list is not exhaustive ) that have worked their socks off to help stave the threat of losing the club, yet still the Hobbins haven't come on here to recognise these facts.
I know that Eric posts on here to say thanks to everyone, but we need a reaction from the 'club' itself.  Afterall, we the punters put money in the coffers.  We the punters have been asked to dig deeper and help and yet, I still see on certain threads ' if you want to know things, then Barry will answer your questions at the games'
Sorry, but not all of us can attend every game.  So why not join up and answer the people that pay your wages?

I cant believe it is now the weekend before the court hearing and we still have no further news. If anyone is going to the game tomorrow (I cant make it) please provide any updates you hear/receive on here.

Lets just hope we are nearly there with the investors but the lack of any update is a worry

It could be cat and mouse theory - keeping us all on tenderhooks until the last moment.
Unless of course, the Hobbins are possibly being asked to walk away so that the new investors can make a clean start? Maybe that is the sticking point?
Who knows, everything is pure speculation at the moment.

That's the point, why is it just speculation.

I think the supporters have been let down badly by the way this has been conducted by the owners.

First we get told there's a problem just four days before we were in court and then ask for our help, which was given, then leave us in the dark about what is going on,unless in my opinion you are one of the chosen one's that know what's going on.

Secondly whats happened to the Commercial Manager that was appointed.

Totally agree Bubbles. When all of this arose just before the season started. The club were very quick to ask for the supporters help.ideas and took our money. WITHOUT ANY THANKS I MIGHT ADD.
What do we get. A total stone wall. No club statements. No updates. NOTHING BUT HOT AIR AND RUMOURS.
I`ve sponsored a players shirt. donated a nice cheque. Put money in the fighting fund bucket. Bought the scratch cards. Supported the Events.   We all turn up to PVR every home game. We all here the rumours and discuss them.  We all convince ourselves that by the end of the week we will here the good news that we have all been waiting for.  Then..... NOTHING KIN HAPPENS..... WEEK.. AFTER.. WEEK.. AFTER.. WEEK.
If the commercial manager was treated the same as the supporters its no wonder he jumped ship soon after he came on board!

IT`S SO FRUSTRATING.

One day all this will come out I'm sure, but all this just leads to rumours and speculation. I can only add what I have heard when I asked Barrie at the Havant game and he told me it was on going, expected to be done in seven days .I asked him again at the Tonbridge game and he said it was still ongoing.

If this goes tits up there will be a lot of people who have put in a lot of money wanting a lot of answers.

The communication has been dire to say the least

Not just this matter but other things as well. Barrie Hobbins sits on the other side of the desk, talks about the club then takes money for my season ticket, gives me my ticket then sends me on my way. However many weeks later all the financial troubles come to light. Yet when i got my ticket, not a single word from him about it, and he of course would have known exactly what sort of trouble they would have been in at the time!

The way things have been handled since by the owners hasn't surprised me one single bit. It's pathetic that we haven't heard a word from the club in ages.

I have to agree that it is inexcusable that there is still total silence from the club on the present situation just four days before the hearing.

Many people put considerable sums into the club around August/September time to help keep the club afloat and it is an insult to them that there has been no information given for many weeks.

If the club survives and the current owners are still running things on a day-to-day basis, it will be a long time before this lack of communication is forgotten.
