Not going ahead with buyers, opting for administration instead.

IF this is happening will the tax man and league accept it? If they do then it's minus 10 points, good bye to the players and who knows after  that?

I thought about not posting this as it might only be rumours but the silence from the club is out of order.

Typical Welling, even going bust or getting a takeover completed is a shambles.

All that matters is that the people running the club still haven't said a ****ing word about the takeover.

tax man not sure to accept. Admin is relegation and 10 points next year. If we lose players and get relegated its ryman1. If the rumours are true rip welling united fc. People will go mad all eggs in one basket. Was there ever a deal? Someone email kate bush bernie ecclestone and mick jagger and ask for 50k please by wednesday.

Whatever happens the Hobbins are finished at this club. Yes they are nice people, but being nice alone doesn't cut it when it comes to running a football club. School fairs and car bootsales are better run than Welling United.

@JGFC E&B average something like 60-70 a game, so Ryman1 would be 100+ at a guess.

@Greensox Don't let one of the Hobbins' turn the lights off, they'd probably bugger it up!

I heard from someone who phoned me from the match. It appears it's common knowledge but hopefully someone will come on here and explain in more detail.

(i'm off out now so hopefully more info elsewhere)

Hopefully this is just speculation from the fans, as they have had no real news....

You've hit the nail on the head there, NO REAL NEWS, from the club or ANY other source. Frustrating innit.

If its true then the Club should have made an announcement with some sort of explanation as to what has happened before it leaked out.

Got a feeling the truth will come out tonight as the club obviously read this. Not jumping to conclusions just yet, but obviously very worried indeed

Long term it might be the only choice for the hobbins. If news was forthcoming from the club we wouldn't be relying on rumour and terrace talk. This whole thing has been a joke.

Difficult to know as different people got slightly different versions. What seems to be pretty clear is that the potential buyers are not happy about taking on the debt. A plan B does exist which involves an old supporter of the club from Bromley to loan us the money for next week. I was also told that he is out of the country in Hong Kong at the moment. Unsure what the terms of that deal amy be.

I think all of us at the game got the distinct impression that we are in real trouble now. Barry did say that administration is not an option. You have to be a trading limited company to do that apparantly, and we aren't.

There is another option - I can't remember what it is is called. It will mean having 3 years to pay all our debts. It comes with a 10 point reduction and the rules of our league mean that we have to pay our debts by the end of the season or we are out of the league - like Salisbury.

Bubbles and Dogkilla were able to explain it better - I am sure that some-one else knows better that me what it all means.

A lot of anger and frustration at the game - the game didn't seem that relevant. We are in real trouble now - the Hobbins remain upbeat and still feel we will be going to Luton.

The club must publish an honest statement about what is going on. We can't have speculation and rumour. People deserve better. I have been coming to Wellling for 10 years now and rarely miss a game home or away - I know I deserve better. Many others have been coming for years longer than me and they certainly deserve better.

The other option, is it a CVA?

If it's a CVA, and you're not sure what that is, check this link.

Awful.  The whole communication and handling thing.  I posted it months ago and got shot down for it.  It has continued to be as awful as I posted.

I obviously don't know where this came from but there was a posting a week or two ago from a "tmb"...

tmb posted: "I would say considering I led a group of investors who had the money to pay off the debt and make a key player purchase or two to push for promotion this season and we were shut out that they are very close to a deal. I really hope they are or it would be a shame".  Any chance of another push?

Don't know what else to say really.  I'm going to buy some beers to cheer me up.

I was at the game today and what I was told by Barry and others isn't the rumour posted here. Things are at a delicate stage but all isn't necassarily lost. I'm not going to comment further or express an opinion. CVA - as Welling isn't a company it wouldn't seem to be an option in any event. Not going to pretend I'm confident but we shall see.

For what it is worth .... not one person please come and tell me this is wrong to say!

Welling United has been a massive part of my life for upto ten years and i have travelled by car, train and even plane to watch the wings, and after ten years i thought this was the year great team and results going our way even after the five point deduction.

I was praying not just for me and the team but you guys the ones i know on a personal basis ... spills, dan, gary, kegan, matt the hat, rowan, spud, the shulvers, russ, ken markx the list does go on some of you were at my wedding reception and have been going alot longer then the ten years i have and i thought this was the year a play off chance and a game that meant something.

Dont come out with kent senior cup win and couple of FA cup games they were great but in the league we have done NOTHING ... FACT! Now this news if this is true and is confirmed then its an utter disgrace for all of those who have worked hard Bruno, Patsy Nellys heroes I fill gutted for you the club MUST have had an indication about what the plans were, look how sad this is some saying lets get a coach to Whitstable for maybe the last game as Welling FC gutted for me you and us!

The following link would establish the club as a limited company

http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/e35957c983abb754207e76248ed019ce/compdetails

Unless my understanding is wrong these days the liability of the company is limited to the directors. Therefore there exposure relates to the shareholing in the company which may be nominal.

Whatever the outcome I started this thread and there appears to be something in it.

Reason I started the thread=Oct 15th

The last time any official news from the club. This is not good enough. Keeping the fans updated is common courtesy at least.

Why has there not even been 'the club continues talks etc', 'the club has options available in the event of xyz'??????

(but then I know the answer really. We're Welling - and it p**ses me off)

Wait 4 days and we will all know. There is nothing I or the rest of you can sensibly materially do to alter the situation.

Annoying, sad, frustrating..... but in the end it is and always has been their club and this is just the logical end game.

Until today it did seem as though the situation was going to be altered.

New owners with ambition (not too grand but enough) looked as though the best thing to happen in my 26 years supporting the club.

whilst i know the fans are upset not to be told whats going on...
i think no matter what happens, we need to spare a thought for the Hobbins family....
how do you think they are feeling right now...
they could lose this club (their club) its not like other owners who have just lost money... this club was set up by the Hobbins..
they love this club...
yes i know many of you could and probably will argue that its their fault they are in this mess... but with the number of football clubs in a mess like this (some much larger) i dont think any of us should be pointing the finger at them.....no matter what happens....

I'm still hopefull that something can be pulled out of the hat... but thats just my way... i wait right up to the final whistle before giving up....

Ok lets get to the facts

1. We owe around £55 grand
2. The supporters have raised around £15 grand
3. We now owe net around £40 grand
4. If new owners are nowhere we need to raise £40 grand in 3 days
5. We need 13 people who are willing to pledge £3 grand each to the club in exchange for 10 year season tickets in the executive lounge

this option has been raised by JGFC before and unless someone tells me otherwise is the only option available

therefore anyone who is willing to do option 5 above please contact Barrie asap - I have 3 people including myself who are willing to do so , so we need another 10 to save the club. This should have been sorted months ago but we all believed the new owners we resolve everything

please contact the club if you can help

Lou

I have come to the conclusion that the reason we have not heard anything from the owners about the the prospective buyers and the takeover is..... because it was a complete smoke screen. Who were/are they? What business are they involved in? What are/were their ambitions for the club? None of us know!  Do we? . It was all about giving us a lifeline to hold onto. It was all about making sure we all kept coming through the turnstiles. Takeover......... Takeover my AR#E

I don't think that's the case at all. I've spoken to both the Hobbins and until recently it looked as though the takeover was nearing completion. There must have been a sticking point sides couldn't agree on???

Weird thing is both Hobbins have been fine talking to people recently about the situation (not just to me) so I'm not sure why the club couldn't address fans via the official site. Most clubs issue statements, press releases via the official site first.

The communication has been a let down in all of this.

Good luck to the Hobbins if this gets sorted but things will have to change if we're not in the same situation again.

Alot of these posts are from people who were standing there talking to the Hobbins,so are not exactly rumours.

I was one of them and from what I was told I dont think we will have new owners.
