Perhaps Saturday's meeting could discuss asking every supporter to give £50 - £40 of which would go towards the appeal fund, the other £10 towards the formation of a supporters association. If the club survives, those who have contributed £50 get to decide at an inaugural meeting the aims, objectives and constitution of a supporters association which must have representation on the Welling United board. Thereafter, the annual subscription to the supporters association could be set at £25. There must also be honoraria for the supporters association officers who give of their time and efforts.
On reflection, the £3,000 donations move, suggested in another thread, seems a good idea. But there must be rewards as suggested in that thread - exec lounge tickets and authority to bring in up to three guests for 4 matches or whatever would seem appropriate. Businesses which contribute £3,000 plus could get free advertising in addition.
