Has there been any official response from the council?
If not can we get a list of questions or concerns together that we can put forward. I don't mind sending an email as I've been speaking to the deputy mayor on other non-football issues.
I know they won't stump up the money but I think they should have an offical response (maybe just a quote).
I can't make the meeting tomorrow but will catch up on here.
For a council with a multi-million budget, 60k (or a sum towards it) to save their most senior club should be high on their agenda. The late 80s put Welling on the map with our up cup runs and promotion. Time they helped us.
Has the club asked for a response? Has the club invited the Council to Saturday's meeting? As for Multi Million budget - this is a multi million budget is allocated and set at the start for the financial year to provide core services.

At today's meeting (of which I'm sure there will be much written on here), Barrie explained that the Chief Exec and Council Leader had met with him to see how they could help us in our current situation.
In terms of giving the club money, I don't think the Council are in a position to do that with their budget as it is, but they are looking at help to help the club another way - perhaps reducing business rates, etc. I think that's really the most we can hope for, given that the council are under significant financial constraints. I certainly welcome their suggestion that they may help us in this way.
How about them using PVR or improving the corporate or hospitality in the top right hand corner. Or redeveloping the main stand to include a lounge or boxes that we can offer to the community all year round and all week and also use on match days commercially. At the end of the day itys the councils ground so they can help us or help get us grants.
They can give millions combined to judo clubs or mosques or crochet clubs (stitch that), and also promote charlton.. welll we are the biggest team in the borough.
Its is SUPERB that the cheif exec of bexley council and others are aware and have had meetings with the club. It is a start and makes me feel better. Lets hope that the club can negotiate something that benefits the club.. thats an issue have we got the balls and knowledge to try and get something that benefits us all and sell it (the idea) to the council.

JgFc, small point, the judo club is in Dartford. Not to nit pick or anything ;) And judo is/was a successful sport for our country, so there was funding around for it.
There will be no financial support, I can assure you. The council has to slash it's budget by somehting like £25 million over the next 3 years. This does not include a debt incurred to the Borough by two of it's schools going into Special Measures a couple of years back either...I'd expect a reduction in rates or rent.
They need to stop letting Charlton in. Seriously. That club do not give much back...
Theres no reason they cant get behind us, publicise us, support us, look into gaining grants for us. I am sure they could do some print work for us and possibly try and get some ground force/volunteer work on the ground to get some cover etc or improve/extend terracing.
It doesnt have to be a pure cash donation, there are ways and means.
